The quotation is from Camus, and I'm sorry to disappoint you all... no one's got it yet.
However, Jewel-ry is now official runner-up, as her idea was something I had not thought of, and does bring a whole new perspective to the quotation.

Temperance!!!
Our harshest critic is ourselves!
Or more to the point our unconscious. Temperance often is about the unconscious becoming conscious.
Dark angel may be judged harshest by a light angel, and the one on the RWCS Temperance card, seems pretty light in color to me.

Eeek! Maybe my interpretation of this is off, or something?
I was looking through the Medieval Scapini deck when I chose this card, if that helps any?
I think WolfyJames is still the closest, but telling you how would make it too easy.

Your own insecurity, or lack of confidence. The judgement of yourself inadequite to proceed......
|

YES! Mercenary30 has got it!
In the Medieval Scapini, a man hangs trapped between eight swords, while another man, a judge, tries him for his 'crimes'. I see this as an internal scenario, as the man sees his own faults much larger than they are; a daily judgement, and final.
"I'm not good enough"
"I'm not clever - I didn't do well in that test"
"I mustn't be pretty - that guy/girl didn't want to date me"
It works the other way too, as people can blow up their own talents way out of proportion to their achievements:
"I'm gorgeous - no one will not find me attractive"
"I'm a genius, bound to get into Harvard - I aced that math test after all"
"I'm perfect".
So, our judgements of ourselves tend to go to the extreme, and stay with us long after the initial thought, and we judge ourselves every second of our lives.
The clue, "think of me", was referring to Lucifer, a dark angel, whose own worst enemy was himself as he thought he was so wonderful he deserved more power than he could handle. His own arrogance, his final judgement that he was the best, meant his beauty was twisted and scarred, and he became his own worst enemy.
Your turn, mercenary30. Congrats!
