From the Rubáiiyát of Omar Khayyám, verse 27Myself when young did eagerly frequent
Doctor and Saint, and heard great
Argument
About this and about that: but evermore
Came out by the same Door as in I went.

Oh, man, this is a tough one. I know this will be wrong, but I'm going to say Hermit, because he's not just visiting the doctors and saints, but considering what they say in the light of his own reason and judgment.

Aargh! I remember reading that a long time ago, and now I don't have a clue of what it could be...
so my guess is...
the Hanged Man?
This is purely based on the idea of him as the Wounded Healer and as a martyr of some sort (Doctor and Saint), and how he could be a presence in the minds of people in similar situations?
I know I'm probably way off, though.

Could this possibly be Temperance? Getting a good dose of both ideas, and balancing them to a decision that best for you?

To me the last line suggests coming out of that Door none the wiser.
Going by image could it be Rider Waite 2/Swords?

I can't put my finger on why, but for some reason, this quote makes me think High Priestess.

For secular/ worldly concerns will only keep you tied to the world… true knowledge comes from listening to the voices within.

How about The Fool?
He doesn't care for conventional arguments and rhetoric, he just wants to do his own thing.
