Here it is as promised - my first time doing this, so I have no idea if I've pitched it right or not, but here goes:
'We keep the wall between us as we go
To each the boulders that have fallen to each
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance'
Robert Frost

I may be way off here, but I'll go for The Devil!

Folks, please ignore this one - Kiama just reminded me that the game I won was a one-line quote, so that's what this should be. Silly me - sorry about that - I'll go back to the drawing-board tonight.

Sorry gloria  when I wrote that second message nobody seemed to have replied yet, so I thought the coast was clear; your message must have come up just as I was posting. Oh dear.
Not the Devil anyway, for what it's worth.

Hey, no need to quit the game: we'll just pretend it's a One-Line quote, and whoever wins this game continues with a One-Line quote. That way, the continuity is kept, and Bean Feasa'a excellent clue is solved.
Blessings,
Kiama
PS- Is it the Two of Pentacles? I'm going for the balance aspects, and the boulders in the line remind me of Coins.

Thanks Kiama :)
Not the 2 of Pentacles though, although I can see exactly why you would think so.
So come on folks, we're in business again. Let's be having you!

I'll start the the over-obvious which probably aint it, but since a spell is required I'll say....
The Magician.

I'm gonna say the Sun - because it has a wall in it :D

Nobody's got it so far - Kiama was the nearest. (Hope my interpretation of this quote isn't too desperately fanciful)
One helpful hint - if you know the poem, try to leave that knowledge aside, and just take the quote as it stands, out of context.

EDIT - Sorry, jmd, didn't see you had already taken the six of coins!
Six of Pentacles, doling out boulders and making sure they balance.

I'm flummoxed. I can't think of anything else in the deck that symbolizes balance than what's already been mentioned, which by the way, are the following:
Magician
Lovers
Chariot (mercenary - Gloria had already guessed this one)
Justice
Temperance
Devil
Tower
Sun
2 Pents
6 Pents
2 Swords
(thought I'd give jmd a break today) ;)
So here's my last shot: 4 of Pents

I just realized that they are working together to build this wall. Keeping it between them to work more efficiently. The boulders are the buliding materials.
Two of Cups.

I think the idea of 'balance' is throwing everyone off the scent as it's being interpreted as a balance of two things. I'm thinking more of the notion of balance as things held in suspension - many more things, as it happens, than two... ;)

You got it gloria!!!
There's a wall between the old man and the younger people who are on the move ('as we go') and the 10 discs/coin/pentacles seem to hang magically balanced, 'falling to each' in their tree of life pattern.
Or that's how I saw it anyway :)
Thanks to everyone who had a go, and sorry it was a good deal more than one line!
