Boy, that was quick: Mercenary30 has it! It was indeed the 9 of Swords. I got to thinking what could have caused that person to be sitting up in bed in the middle of the night, anguishing. The 9 of Swords has always struck me as a thought-induced anguish, a mental problem or anxiety. And what better than an existential problem to keep you awake at night? Over to you, Mercenary30!
