All skill is in vain when an angel pees in the touchhole of your musket!

Okay...what card am I? :)

ncefafn  18 Apr 2004
LOL! I just want to know who wrote that line! Let me ponder on the quote itself and I'll get back to you.

gloria, this is a funny and hard one! LOL

I will go with the 4 of Cups - Disappointment!

For the sense of frustration, let me guess the 9 of Swords.

5 Pents...what else could go wrong for those poor travelers..
(although I do see 5 Pents as a positive read as well...) but it just struck me that the stained glass window with the pents in it was like the angel peeing on these poor travelers.....

terri

yes, where did you get that quote?!

Lady Mary  19 Apr 2004
Maybe the Magician reversed. He's a skilled boy, isn't he?

gloria  19 Apr 2004
Morning all......all good guesses but not the one.

Kim......glad you liked it....all I know is that it's a German quote. :)

Lady Mary  19 Apr 2004
Judgement?

gloria  19 Apr 2004
:laugh:Judgement!!
It took awhile for that one to sink in Lady Mary, very good, but no.
I thought there could be only one card to match this quote, but how wrong I was.
Looking forward to more of your guesses. :)

Lady Mary  19 Apr 2004
OK, let's try something else!
How about the Emperor? I can see him being really pissed off, if an angel peed in the touchhole of his musket.

ncefafn  19 Apr 2004
7 of Pentacles?

gloria  19 Apr 2004
Hi Kim and Lady Mary......no, sorry.
I agree, this is a toughie. A clue....it isn't a Major.

ncefafn  19 Apr 2004
Okay, using "skill" as a keyword, how about the 3 of Pents?

mercenary30  19 Apr 2004
Eight of Cups?

gloria  19 Apr 2004
Not 3/Pents Kim...and not 8/Cups mercenary.
There is skill involved here though.

mercenary30  19 Apr 2004
Let's try Five of Wands/Staffs. That is about all that musket is good for now.......

gloria  19 Apr 2004
 No mercenary not five/wands.....but you are right, that musket won't be any good now....and that is the point!!!

mercenary30  19 Apr 2004
Seven of Wands?

gloria  19 Apr 2004
No, not 7/Wands.

Lady Mary  19 Apr 2004
How about the 8 of Cups and going away from the skillfully made cups?

mercenary30  19 Apr 2004
Ace of Wands cause he has to start his plan all over again!

ncefafn  19 Apr 2004
King of Cups, and that's my last guess.

Kim

tmgrl2  19 Apr 2004
OK, I'll do the "jmd" here:

4 Cups
9 Swords
5 Pents
Magician Rx
Judgment
7 Pents
3 Pents
8Cups
5 Wands
7 Wands
Ace Wands
King Cups

....Hardly any trumps here....

The Chariot?

terri

gloria  20 Apr 2004
Thanks for list tmgrl......but not Chariot...no Majors.
Sorry Kim, but no.
Lady Mary no to 8/Cups...mercenary went for same card.

The musket has been made useless for a reason! :)

Phoenix Rising  20 Apr 2004
How about the 10 of wands? or 10 of something?

mercenary30  20 Apr 2004
Four of Swords? (now I am just guessing....)

CreativeFire  20 Apr 2004
I am really "guessing" here as well - but how about the 8 of Pentacles, since his musket is now useless he will have to learn a new skill!

CreativeFire

gloria  20 Apr 2004
Phoenix, mercenary and CreativeFire....still no.
Another clue.....we're talking sabotage here!
A big clue cos I don't want you just to guess.

mercenary30  20 Apr 2004
Seven of Swords?

gloria  20 Apr 2004
YES mercenary YES!!!

The 7/Swords warns to avoid direct ‘in your face’ confrontation…..and so, it is often necessary to outwit your opponent with guile and cunning. (Even if it does mean sabotaging some rotten old musket!)

Please tell me it all falls into place now mercenary. :(

It does, I just wasn't thinking about it from that angle. I was stuck on the musket becomming a glorified staff for too long. The Four of Swords was just a dumb idea........

Cool. Now I have to find a one line quote...........

Thanks gloria for the challenge!!
