Lyric Game (May 14) - Solved

Here's the next lyric:

The song is "(Moonlight) Shake My Head and Leave" by City boy from 1976.

Moonlight... Oh in the moonlight
Eyes bright... waiting for daylight
Please, don't fight, everythings soooo right
High lights... sweet golden goodnights.

But there you go, it goes to show, how my imagination flooooows

In never ending circles, with glances asking questions
We chase each other's alibis
And if my voices show me caution, only through your eyes
It's only through your eyes

Nightlife... seems like a still life
Waiting... for unfinished paintings
Oh, but meanwhile... time in between smiles
Stands still... like some breathless windmill

But there you go, it goes to show, how my imaginations floooows... Yeah

If the sages say I'm foolish, I'll say your every movement
Was like a river, washing over me... over me
But if you tell me that it's ended, I'll shake my head and leave
Shake my head and leave.

The 8 of cups?

MattDouglas  15 May 2004
Nope... I thought of the 8 of cups for this song, but I picked another one instead.

Gaidheal  15 May 2004
It couldn't possibly be this obvious, but...The Moon?

lunalafey  15 May 2004
High Priestess?

MattDouglas  15 May 2004
No it's not the Moon; Yes, I wouldn't be that obvious.
It's not the High Priestess either.

Dakota  15 May 2004
hmmmmmmmm, never ending circles, windmill.........

Wheel of Fortune?

MattDouglas  16 May 2004
Good guess, Dakota, but not it!

Often my clues are related to the art of the card, but with this one I'm going for for mood and undercurrents.

TemperanceAngel  16 May 2004
Justice?

TemperanceAngel  16 May 2004
Knight of Cups?

MattDouglas  16 May 2004
Sorry Temperance Angel, it's neither of those!

Dark Eyes  17 May 2004
Three of swords...?

Phoenix Rising  17 May 2004
Star!

Dakota  17 May 2004
5 of cups?

MattDouglas  17 May 2004
Nobody has it yet but Dark Eyes is the closest!

Phoenix Rising  18 May 2004
4 of swords in deep meditation

Dark Eyes  18 May 2004
Perhaps the 9 of swords,...
..... Questioning the comittment of the other person, ....insecurities and unfounded fears...?

MattDouglas  18 May 2004
Not yet! But yall are gettin' warmer!

Dark Eyes  19 May 2004
Maybe ten of swords then...? The possible end of a situation, also the promise of a new beginning if the worst happens?

MattDouglas  19 May 2004
It's not exactly the end, Dark Eyes, but you thinking along the right idea. Not quite it though.

Dark Eyes  19 May 2004
Hi Matt D,
I guess the lovers is way off the mark, but the lovers can indicate a very close bond even though there are questions around the situation...? ... Maybe Matt D...?

MattDouglas  20 May 2004
Nope, you're actually getting colder now!

Dark Eyes  20 May 2004
O.K. Well, how about the seven of swords...
Some area of mistrust or hidden agendas are peeping through the situation?...

Phoenix Rising  20 May 2004
It has to be 6 swords, "leaving, imagining and flowing like the river.

MattDouglas  20 May 2004
Y'all are all around it but not quite there yet.

Dark Eyes  20 May 2004
five of swords, and that's my last guess !!!! :grumpy: (.D. is stomping around grouchily)........................................:(

MattDouglas  21 May 2004
Congrats, Dark Eyes, that is the one!!!!!

The card may take place during the day, but it look as if there has just been a conflict, but with some uncertainty and different reactions among the various figures on the card, so it's very much a nighttime and by the moon (undercurrents). One is acting like the winner one is playing victim and the other is walking away. So we see that each is still playing games ("chase each other's alibi"), and though at a pause we know there is more to come in the form of other sword pips (nightlife... seems like a still life waiting for unfinished painting.... etc). Each may be wondering what the other persons cards are (How my imagination flooooows). And one decide to simply walk away (shake my head and leave).

Dark Eyes  21 May 2004
Kewl Matt, I like your reasoning !! :)

It was tricky, but makes total sense to me now. I should have thought of that one in the first place. Good one.

I will retire to my C.D. stand now to find another set of lyrics to tease you all with and get your heads ticking again. and mouths watering... :D Hmmmmm................ let me see....?????

Back soon folks, don't y'all go away now y'hear...

D.

gloria  21 May 2004
Congratulations Debs.....:)

Phoenix Rising  21 May 2004
Kei te Pai Dark Eyes! Wasn't much swords left aye?

Dark Eyes  21 May 2004
Thanks Gloria and Lu, and you're right, there were very few sword cards left. It was pretty narrowed down huh !! ;)

Anyway, could be a day before I get another clue up, but I promise not to keep everybody waiting too long.

Go and have your cuppa, or glass of wine and relax for a while. Back soon.
Debs.
