"I could not sit seriously down to write a serious romance under any other motive than to save my life; and if it were indispensable for me to keep it up and never relax into laughing at myself or other people, I am sure I should be hung before I had finished the first chapter." - Jane Austen
*edited to add, this is meaning-based rather than image-based. :)
What card am I?

Morning all...
The Queen of Pentacles is a down-to-earth character.

(You know, by this point I think we're just methodically going through the Sword courts... *giggles*)

And when you run out of swords courts, you'll have to change suits, won't you? ;) No, not the King of Swords.
Gloria, I like your reasoning, but Queen of Pents isn't the one.
And welcome to the game, NocturnalDreamer. Sorry, 4 of Cups isn't the card I'm thinking of either.

mercenary...I think you have it. I was looking for a court that has a sense of humour and you've come up with it!

Oooh! Y'all are gonna be mad at me. :)
I chose the Page of Wands for this card. Yes, the Knight of Wands has a sense of humor, and would probably insert a lot of humor into a romance novel but . . . The Knights, as I see them, are all about commitment and follow-through. No matter how odious he found the task, the Knight of Wands would finish writing the romance novel.
The Page of Wands, however, shares the Knight's sense of humor, but gives more free rein to it, making him/her impish and playful. Pages, in my opinion, are much more likely to start things and then leave them half-finished.
So, whether you agree with me or not, Hedgecub wins it!
