One-line quote (2nd May) - Solved

Thread originally posted on the Aeclectic Tarot Forum on 02 May 2004, and now archived in the Forum Library.

ncefafn  02 May 2004
"I could not sit seriously down to write a serious romance under any other motive than to save my life; and if it were indispensable for me to keep it up and never relax into laughing at myself or other people, I am sure I should be hung before I had finished the first chapter." - Jane Austen

*edited to add, this is meaning-based rather than image-based. :)

What card am I?

mercenary30  02 May 2004
Lets try Ten of Wands....

hedgecub  02 May 2004
How about the Queen of Swords?

ncefafn  02 May 2004
No to both, though it's good to see you again, Mercenary & Hedgecub. :)

Kim

Suriel  02 May 2004
the fool?

hedgecub  02 May 2004
*guesses wildly* The 6 of Cups?

ncefafn  02 May 2004
Nope, neither the Fool nor the 6 of Cups.

Suriel  02 May 2004
erm.,......the hanged man??

hedgecub  02 May 2004
*is flailing wildly by now* Page of Cups?

ncefafn  02 May 2004
No to both of you, but Hedgecub is edging closer.

;)

Kim

hedgecub  02 May 2004
Um, Page of Swords?

mercenary30  02 May 2004
Knight of Swords?

ncefafn  02 May 2004
Nope, but you're both in the right ballpark (Wrigley, not Soldiers' Field)

*edited to correct ballparks!

nocturnaldreamr  02 May 2004
hmmm 4 of cups?
unfocused, boredom and unmotivation to kick start something, but sometimes yah just gotta go with what is and keep with it??..

gloria  03 May 2004
Morning all...
The Queen of Pentacles is a down-to-earth character.

hedgecub  03 May 2004
Dur... King of Swords?

hedgecub  03 May 2004
(You know, by this point I think we're just methodically going through the Sword courts... *giggles*)

ncefafn  03 May 2004
And when you run out of swords courts, you'll have to change suits, won't you? ;) No, not the King of Swords.

Gloria, I like your reasoning, but Queen of Pents isn't the one.

And welcome to the game, NocturnalDreamer. Sorry, 4 of Cups isn't the card I'm thinking of either.

Kim

hedgecub  03 May 2004
Ehh, Page of Wands? :)

gloria  03 May 2004
Queen/Cups?

Suriel  03 May 2004
i'll try this....
Knight of cups??

mercenary30  03 May 2004
Knight of Wands!!!

gloria  03 May 2004
mercenary...I think you have it. I was looking for a court that has a sense of humour and you've come up with it!

ncefafn  03 May 2004
Oooh! Y'all are gonna be mad at me. :)

I chose the Page of Wands for this card. Yes, the Knight of Wands has a sense of humor, and would probably insert a lot of humor into a romance novel but . . . The Knights, as I see them, are all about commitment and follow-through. No matter how odious he found the task, the Knight of Wands would finish writing the romance novel.

The Page of Wands, however, shares the Knight's sense of humor, but gives more free rein to it, making him/her impish and playful. Pages, in my opinion, are much more likely to start things and then leave them half-finished.

So, whether you agree with me or not, Hedgecub wins it!

Congratulations to hedgecub.....:)
