I think this one's pretty easy, but anyway...
And the weaver said, Speak to us of Clothes.
And he answered:
Your clothes conceal much of your beauty, yet they hide not the unbeautiful.
And though you seek in garments the freedom of privacy you may find in them a harness and a chain.
Would that you could meet the sun and the wind with more of your skin and less of your raiment
For the breath of life is in the sunlight and the hand of life is is the wind.
Some of you say, "It is the north wind who has woven the clothes we wear."
And I say, Ay, it was the north wind,
But shame was his loom, and the softening of sinews was his thread.
And when his work was done he laughed in the forest.
Forget not that modesty is for a shield against the eye of the unclean.
And when the unclean shall be no more, what were modesty but a fetter and fowling of the mind?
And forget not not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the wind longs to play with your hair.

Nope to all!
Look at the meaning of the quote, and what it implies. I was not looking for a card with a nude figure on it. Though it may very be that way in spme deck, but not in RWCS.

The Hierophant -- moral code?

Dakota, you;re getting closer but not there yet.
Oak Dragon, I'd call the quote spiritual, but moral is questionable. Morality to me involves a lot of rules and shoulds, this quote seems to be telling people to lighten up about such things. Thus, not the Hierophant.

Hint: The quote is indicating working with something rather than denying, repressing, and hurting that something.

Sorry, not the 3 of Pentacles.
I can see why you would select it after my clue, but go back to the quote itself, and look at the spirit of it.

guesing wildly....
is it the five of pentacles?
|
| MattDouglas |
05 Jun 2004 |
|
Nope, not that either
Guessed so far:
4 of wands
3 of cups,
9 of cups,
Queen of cups
3 of Pentacles,
5 of Pentacles
High Priestess (Popess)
Empress
Hierophant
Lovers
Hermit
Temperance
Star
Moon
Sun
Judgment
World
The closest guess was Dakota guessing the Empress. However, when is say closest I do not mean to guess a nearby card such as the High Priestess or a 3 of x suit. I mean that the guess has some representation of what I perceived as the spirit of the quote, but wasn't quite the card I picked.
Also, if y'all tell me why you made the guess you made, I can more easily say if you are thinking along my same track of thought or not.

Queen of Pentacles because (to me) her energy is similar to that of the Empress, attuned to the winds, and the natural world.

Starsongs, I like your train of heart, but think of things internally and not just externally.

OK...hmmmmm...how about the Ace of Cups, then..linked with the Unconditional Love and Acceptance that is eventually facilitated by the Empress? :D

Not it either,
but what is it that needs to be loved? Think ont hat rather than just the love itself.
Lswern, you may have been on a similar train of thought with the Devil, but with just the guess written, I cannot say for sure.

Thanks Matt... the hint did somewhat give it away, especially if one compares the Visconti type to the Marseille and its successors.
Reading the quote with that card in mind, I can now see how the two relate :)
