What if the point of life has nothing to do with the creation of an ever-expanding region of control? What if the point is not to keep at bay all those people, beings, objects, and emotions that we so needlessly fear? What if the point instead is to let go of that control? What if the point of life, the primary reason for existence, is to lie naked with your lover in a shady grove of trees?

Letting go, being vulnerable/naked...
The Hanged Man?

Nope, none of those - although the Hanged Man was the card I originally thought of for this passage.

Well, the obvious...The Lover/Lovers?
Because for them that is the point of life, right?

Nope, haven't got it yet!
(The Sun really is a good choice for this passage, though, and very close, in interpretation of the passage, to the card I chose.)

I have absolutely no idea...
how about the quote as advice to the two at his feet:

9 of Cups? The guy on the RWS card seems pretty satisfied with having everything.

The 3 of cups. Celebratory.

Nope, none of those... The one I'm thinking of is more about fully embracing the world and being fully a part of its cycles instead of separating yourself from it.

Strength?
Thinking of the mild control "not keeping things at bay, relax and trust the calm"... Aswell as that restful stance "under a tree" that is apparent in some decks for this card...

Lumi, thanks for the hints but I don't think I'm in the ballpark...
How about Temperance, because between this thread and LaLaLyric I need her?

OK...can it be the Moon? It always makes me think of surrender, in a sense.

how about the ...... Death card?
Because if you don't care about Death, you laugh in Death's face and make love?
I'm reaching here Lumi....come on...talk to me....

Still not yet!
The card I picked doesn't focus so much on surrender, as such, but is more about stepping out of the Magician mentality of seeing the world as something to control, and instead simply being a part of it, especially the natural world and the senses.

Yep! You got it! The Empress is the card I picked. To me, she represents simply enjoying the world and your place in it instead of trying to separate yourself from it or impose your will on it.

Exactly what I thought (as to explanation) - oh, hey, I had a great one, should I go ahead & use that one again & this time people can guess? Nah - I'll come up with something better!
