It is not the... Tower Hermit Judgement High Priestess Death 10 of Wands To me the author is conquering the storm within because "a sigh goes to God". Does that help? Arcana

Tmgrl2 got it! The Hanged Man! It seemed to me that he had to surrender the raging parts of his humanity in order to be more like God...in kind of a serene place of stasis as he waited for the spirit realm. Your turn, Tmgrl2! Arcana
