Practise your 3-card line reading skills using a variety of syntactic patterns.
Here are the three cards:
- The Star
- The Hermit
- The Wheel of Fortune
and you can use them in any order. Try each combination!
The idea of the game is to construct a phrase using one of the following syntactic patterns or any other syntactic pattern:
SOV = Subject, Verb, Object (e.g., Star is Subject, Hermit is Verb, Wheel is Object)
SVO = Subject, Verb, Object (e.g., Star, Hermit, Wheel)
V Adv O = Verb, Adverb, Object
S V Adv = Subject, Verb, Adverb
S Adv V = Subject, Adverb, Verb
Adj S V = Adjective, Noun Subject, Verb
When you respond, please ensure that, next to your phrase, you indicate which of the syntactic patterns you are using.
You are free to use any other syntactic pattern you can think of. However, please tell us what pattern you are using. :)
