I am thinking that my choice of card was heavily influenced by the music video, which isn't fair since I can't show that here. So maybe I should describe it a little. In the music video, the little girl is shunned by everyone and, obviously, violently abused by her mother. All through it, she keeps a happy face because she has a friend that is with her all the time. They play in the playground. He lives next door and they can talk from window to window. At the end we find that the little boy wasn't alive, but instead was a spirit/angel/imaginery friend that is waiting for her when she dies. The card I chose describes the little girls attitude in the face of adversity. Maria

Maria Imagining the girl talking with her little friend makes me think of the image on the RWS Six of Cups, even though the meaning of the card doesn't match the lyrics of the song.

It would describe the her relationship with the little boy, but I was focusing on her attitude. So far the 9 of wands is still the closest. Maria

How about Strength? She certainly had a lot of inner strength to make up for the physical strength that she lacked.

You got it shelikes2read! I saw her as "taking heart despite setbacks", "maintaining composure" and I guess "being a rock" sortof fits the statue. Your turn to post a lyric :) Maria
