Weather With You - by Crowded House
(N.Finn/T.Finn)
Walking 'round the room singing
Stormy Weather
at 57 Mt. Pleasant St.
Now it's the same room but everything's different
You can fight the sleep but not the dream
Things ain't cookin' in my kitchen
Strange affliction wash over me
Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire
Couldn't conquer the blue sky
There's a small boat made of china
It's going nowhere on the mantlepiece
Do I lie like a loungeroom lizard
Or do I sing like a bird released
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you
Everywhere you go, always take the weather
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you
Everywhere you go, you always take the weather
Take the weather
Take the weather with you
EDIT: Guessed so far (Sept 2 2004)
2 Swords
4 Swords
8 Swords
9 Swords
2 Wands
5 Cups
8 Cups
Hanged Man
P.S. Perhaps listening to the song might help!!

4 of Swords because song character seems to have trouble deciding to take the rest or keep moving and I got a "swords" feeling from the bad conditions at this life.

Oooh, this is a cool game. I say the Hanged Man...the lyrics give me a real 'limbo' kind of feeling.

The image that came to mind for me is the 9 of Swords.

How about Eight of Swords, for a situation largely of our own making, a prison we carry with us?

I see the Two of Wands in it. From the (selfmade) imprisonment to the wanting to fly, down to the lizard and the ship in the background... But it's probably to perfect to be true ;)

I have no clue why- but the five of cups came to me

I'm going with 2 of swords, for "taking the weather with you" and not seing the things around you due to the swords carried with you blocking the view.

Nope none of these!! My take on this song was definitely more positive (although I now see that it could be any of the things that people guessed). Try giving the lyrics a more positive spin. Perhaps Xviirkna is the closest so far....

Telcontar, you win!! The Fool it is. Heres my take on it
"Walking round....Pleasant St" - The person is at a comfortable home, singing joyfully, although it is a song about stormy weather
"It`s the same room.....not the dream" - Somthing in him has changed that makes him view the world differently through new eyes, and although he fights the urge to follow his dream, he cant fight his dream.....try as he might, he can`t escape the call of the inner world and the call of a journey to a place he doesnt know
Julius Ceasar...blue skies" - He realizes there is more to life than just conquering and acquiring physical things and is inspired and awed by the wonder of nature and all things intangible
T"here`s a small boat......bird released" - He realizes that he has the means to go on a journey and should use this means to strike out into new territory like a " bird released", and a bird released is going to be very optimistic, happy and cheerful, although it does not know what lies ahead since it has been in captivity for so long. It will probably "go with the flow" for a while
"Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you" - So he decides to journey, and decides that wherever he goes and whatever he may experience, his optimism, cheerfulness, innocence and awe for life will be the filter through which he sees life.
Of course, it could be any of the answers people gave, but if you listen to the song perhaps my interpretation of it could make more sense.
All yours, Telcontar......

Well, such a good explanation... And I guessed it just because you said listening to the song might help and playing it in my head (for I couldn't find the tape, shame on me ;) ) it had somthing foolish about it :D
Will start searching for lyrics !
