...another edition of: "LA-LA-LYRIC"?? This seems to have been abandoned; let's have an "encore"!
Here is my song:
BRANWEN SLAYNE
by Faith & The Muse
O my deare brother I am damnifyed at Caer Siddl
For myn housbonde hath this twelfmonth treated me with crueltie
Albe to please thee I didst cheerfullie accept his proffred hand
I was ne'er wary he was ruler of y Uffern land
For whan his gastfull subjects they didst first espy hir freondlesse Queene
Eftsoone they wept for I to them was noughte but a living thinge
Hence with despight his consorted kingdomes
Stonie hart eshewede
And I am thrall'd to sufferance in poverte and servitude
For I am one of three great queenes of the Cymry
LONLINESS PATIENCE WISDOM HAPPINESS
O my brother thou art Kinge of the Island of the Mightye
Alfeare of thy rage hath plac'd silent centenells at Caer Siddl
Ynow for bane or worse that may betide I send my gentil byrd
Whilst I bemone mine outcast state
Tho hold my tonges unthrifty worde
There mew'd withine its tamed winge
Myn urgent message pleades thyn ayd
Battallous make thy complement
And reskue this most piteous mayde
Heerin this underwourldly gloome I implore thee to appeare
And carrye me to Aber Alaw for I am buried here
LONLINESS PATIENCE WISDOM HAPPINESS
And I am one of three who broke their harts in griefe
Ok, so it's in Middle English... Enough of it is legible that I think you can get the gist of the story. (If you *really* do get stuck, ask me for a translation.)
Good luck!! ;)

I don't know the game, but this is Branwyn's plea to her brother Bran, for her rescue from Ireland.

The Lovers? The singer chose the rich and scabby one with whom she is now sorely displeased.

First instinct I though 8 of swords because she seems trapped and wants to be rescued, but unlike the 8 of swords, she is not blindfolded. She sees what can save her. I am thinking of the Devil in my Robin Wood deck. The lovers chained to the daemon as they reach for the escape down the long hallway. Just beyond their reach.
"And I am thrall'd to sufferance in poverte and servitude"
This makes me think of the 5 of pentacles, but servitude could also be the prisoners in the Devil card.
There are also hints of Queens and pages. Could it be an ill-dignified Queen of cups?
I think I will go with THE DEVIL...that is my final answer!

Aaquwaa has it!!!!!!! :D I knew that someone would get there in the end!
To me, Branwen's story typifies the kind of courage that the Strength of the card imparts; she refuses to be worn down, she doesn't beg for help until she is at the very end of a long rope. The formula "LONELINESS PATIENCE WISDOM HAPPINESS" rings as an anthem of inner strength in practice. This is what I see: Branwen with great inner strength. The lion is her husband, she cannot any longer endure what she must do to keep the lion at bay, so she calls upon the lion her brother, Bran.
Your turn for next round, aaquwaa!!

Oh My! I got it! The trembling newbie takes the ball. Hope this is ok, not a song but from a Grimm's tale.
A poor peasant died and arrived at the gates of heaven. At the same time a very rich lord arrived. St. Peter came out with the key, opened the door and let the rich lord in but ignored the peasant. The peasant heard how the lord was received and all the singing and rejoicing. After a bit, St. Peter came again and let the peasant in. The peasant expected great singing like he heard for the lord, but all was quiet. Yes, he was received with great affection but not the joyous response he wanted. St. Peter said to him, all things are done in heaven just as Earth.
What card is this?

no, but thats a good guess :)
another clue
all rich are not evil,
The rich lord did more on earth for others than the peasant so he got more
in heaven

Hey Queen of Cups,
I was a newbie when I won too! Just go up and read the guidelines in the games guidelines. I didn't use a song but I think you are supposed to or a poem. I think you're supposed to start a new thread too but I'm new too. :)
