Celtic Cross.........Obstacle position..read it reversed or upright

AlrighTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT....................

I shall tell how to read the second card...which is obstacle position..or I like to say..."what crosses you"....

This is my opinion okay.

Look at the obstacle card....is it pointing to the recent past postion card or future influences position card. If it is pointing to the future influence card( I read future influence card as in the next 3 month) and the future influence cardis upright.............then read the obstacle card as if it were in upright position...........If your future position card is reversed.........then read the obstacle card in reversed position. Do the same with the recent past position. Now....that is howI read the obstacle card.

Meatbox: That is very interesting & worth trying. Thank you.
There was mention of the same subject a while back but I do not recall where.

I have all sorts of difficulties interpreting the cross card. As it can oppose as well as reinforce the first card, I get confused on how to read it. More than once, in readings for myself, I got The World as the crossing card, just to give an example. I find the first cross of the Celtic cross the most difficult, interpretation wise.

I always read it as an obstacle....l..... or the immediate influence crossing an individual......

Hmmmmmmm, let me see..............that World card..okay, maybe the person had a relationship(relationship is what came to mind)crossing him....that hindered him from obtaining the affections of the one he wanted........................ the person he wanted could be having a relationship with another..........
Now..was the World card pointing towards the recent past position..or the future position............of course you would have to know wether the World was reversed.use the formula I said early on to help decide......then let me know. That is............if it is helpful.

Like Meewah, I also find your idea to be of interest and plan to try using it.

I use the Mythic Tarot deck and the method taught in the book does not include reversals. I didn't know The World could be interpreted in that way... as a "relationship". I'd querried about my future work situation and I got the King of Wands as the first card... crossed by The World. I really felt lost Re the interpretation.

Thanks for any insights.

Alex.

Hi all,
OK, what am I missing? Why are so many people all of a sudden using long strings of periods or repeat letters? I know I'm not up on all the latest internet typing lingo but could someone explain this to me? Is it the computer equivalent to a pause for emphasis or is it like studdering? It took me a long time to decode some of the abreviations and to learn that capital letters means shouting. I'm not complaining, just curious.

Kazz,
I have a friend who is visually impaired and he uses a screen reader program. The long dots are interpreted as pauses by this program but the repeat letters are spoken out repeatedly. It is very frustrating for my friend because it takes awhile to understand that the computer is repeatedly saying a letter rather than trying to pronounce a word. (OK, I admit, I laughed when the computer kept saying “tee, tee, tee, tee, tee” or “em, em, em, em, em”.) I know I am guilty of assuming all the world is sighted and forgetting about those who depend on technology to “see” the screen.

Gosh,
I apologize for being selfish

here's a different slant on the celtic cross:

we have:

1. covers you
2. crosses you
3. the basis
4. behind you
5. crowns you
6. before you

if we consider card 2 to be an 'overpass' we can create two series 3, 1, 5 and 4, 2, 6.
3, 1, 5 could be taken as the evolution of the 'problem'; 4, 2, 6 could be taken as past, present, future influences.

as to whether or not card 2 is reversed, you can initially lay it down next to card 1 to determine this.

That is a very good way of looking at it. Thanks!
