Hey everyone....i want to do a past live spread but i am not really sure how to and i was hoping that you guys could help me...if you could that would be great thanks ^_^

Greenelin  13 Jul 2002
I haven't seen any spreads dedicated to this subject, and I'm not sure that the Tarot, marvelous tool though it is, is the appropriate one for exploring one's past life. A psychic, or a psychic reader, might be of more help.
However, if you're looking for information like "was a sailor," the jobs you once did, the Courts would give you information. I'd also like to recommend Anthony Louis' book, which uses the Robin Wood deck for illos; it gives many vocational definitions for the pips. While it's very old-fashioned, Arthur Waite his own self wrote a small tome now available mostly in paperback which is quite person-specific in terms of both the pips and the Courts.
Since I don't know of any layouts designed for this information, I suggest you design one. Think out what questions you'd like to have answered for yourself, write them down, and put them into some sort of order. Practice laying it out until you and your deck are both comfortable with it, and see what kind of info you get(and share the layout with the rest of us, please). My idea is below; I envision doing this layout for each life.

First set of three cards: Circumstances of birth
Second set of three cards: Circumstances of life
Third set of three cards: Circumstances of death
Fourth set of three cards: Persons I know now who were with me then
Fifth set of three cards: Tell me what else you want me to know

You might also simply meditate on (for instance) the last life you led before this one, and then lay out a Celtic Cross or Horoscope for it.

Let us know what works, okay? It's a very interesting question.

Here's a previous thread that discusses spreads for past lives.

I wanted to thank you guys for reply to my message....like i have been told by my mothers very good psychic friend that i am a old soul...and when i was little i was showing sign of paganism...i was praying to Goddesses and always believed in them and said i was a witch when i was raised in a catholic house and went to a catholic. So my mother and i have not had the chance to go see my mom's firned for her to regress us so i though that maybe the tarot could help ^_^ well thanks for the sample spead and when i try the spead i will be sure to let u guys know how it goes ^_^

This raises some interesting ideas. Perhaps you could start a notebook, describing the characteristics and history of your earlier self.

You could do generic spreads, but focus on particular time periods, creating a series of snapshots as to the prior life. Loves, feuds, triumphs, tragedies, everything.

In essence, you could create your own Tarot based biography.

Sounds like an absolute blast.

I think i am having past life recall but i'm not sure. I remember that i am in the woods....living in a cottage.....i am in my 30...white...(don't mean to sound racist) with brown hair and i am living alone. I spead all my days at my Goddess alter praying. I also spend most of my time out in nature with the animals. Now i am not sure if that is a past life recall. I am pretty sure it is because the discription i see of myself is nothing like i look like now.....lol. So that is why i want to get regressed. So that i can see if that was myself in a previous life and who i was....what i was doing there....what Goddess i was praying to etc

I really do suggest you try working with either a therapist, or someone who has led others on past-life guided imagery and other forms of regression. The questions you're asking about these experiences are not very amenable to the sort of emotional shorthand Tarot uses.
Find out who, in your area, does these things; seek out others who've had it done, and by whom, and find out what their experience was with this particular counselor.
The fee should be reasonable, $50 to $150 for an hour to two hours' work; if you are under eighteen you will have to have parental permission if the person is at all reputable. If you are under fifteen expect it to be very difficult to find someone to work with you, parental permission or no.
If no past-life regression mentors can be found in your area, try to locate a shaman. It's not quite the same thing, but the same concerns can be addressed.
You can do some work with these experiences on your own, as well. Your "hit" that your appearance was nothing as it is now is nice little signpost toward the validity of the experience. Keep an "eye" out for things you couldn't have known, things, people, experiences that feel very not-you.
And watch out for your ego. One of the best tests of the validity of the vision is to think to yourself, "Now I'll see this person in {New York City, ancient Babylonia, whatever}." If the vision "clicks" over to the suggestion, it is, alas, the ego doing dog tricks.
Good luck.

Well see the thing is that i know someone who can do regression. She is a very good friend of my mothers...one of her best friends and she is a very good psychic and tarot reader. We are going to see her this summer...hopefully....lol. But like the reason that i asked about past life tarot spreads becasue in a chat room once i heard people talking about then and i wanted to do one for myself but never found the spread. But yea i am probably not gonna do a tarot spread...like i might try but i most likely will just wait till we go to see my mom's friend and get regressed by her. She's really good and the one good thing is that she is going to do me and my mom for free!!!

Greenelin  14 Jul 2002
That's really great! You're fortunate to have such a good friend. Good luck with it. BB.

I understand where Greenelin is coming from, T-F, and in the case of most past life spreads I would agree. They use only one or two cards to indicate what a person might have been in that past life. But using the Konraad spread, I've had marvelous, detailed and powerful results exploring past lives. So the Tarot, limited as it seems in this regard, really CAN be used for this very successfully, and it saves you a bit of money as well.

Konraad's is the only one that lays out 8 cards specifically to trace the life itself and the events. Seeing as you already remember bits of that life, the spread could easily fill in the blanks and bring back the rest of the memory.

<<.i am in my 30...white...(don't mean to sound racist) with brown hair and i am living alone. I spead all my days at my Goddess alter praying. I also spend most of my time out in nature with the animals.>>

People forget that most goddess worship was upheld and maintained in Europe, with the white folks, till Christianity arrived. So this centers you, likely, in either Gaul or Britian (Ireland included) in your past life.

Greenelin  14 Jul 2002
I've yet to make the acquaintance of the Konraad spread. Where can I find out more about it? Thirteen, are you, perhaps, willing to discuss it a bit here? Thanks,

Greenelin  14 Jul 2002
Just found the link. I swear, some days the mouth-equivalent gets going before the brain-gear's engaged.
