Is it okey to do readings for yourself on public cases like the missing persons tha are in the head lines news like the chandra levi case to get some learning from it. I would like some opinions.

Keslynn  10 Jul 2002
I've never actually done one of these myself but it's not a completely off the wall idea. In fact, Joan Bunning (www.learntarot.com) has lessons and exercises on how to do this. It certainly can't hurt and might give you some interesting information.

It is an interesting looking exercise. I've never done it, but know others who have. Their only 'complaint' is that with something like the Levi case, you may never know how valid the reading was due to the secrecy involved. I’ve volunteered to give distance readings here at the forum, but that’s not quite the same since I’ll post them and get feed back from the querents.

But for those interested, as Keslynn points out, it's in Joan's book, pg. 313, Appendix G, "The Other Reading" or at her website:
http://www.learntarot.com/exer9.htm

She also lists sample reading for Bill and Monica, O. J., Bosnia and other topics at:

let's say you do a reading, and get information, then what?

while we're on the subject, has anyone here had hunches, regarding missing persons, that turned out to be correct? did you do anything about them?

There once was a side called almeisan tarot or something and she had some public readings up. But i can't find here side anymore:(

While it wasn't quite a missing person case, I did pass by the site an elderly woman was raped and beaten to death and got sudden chills and flashes of the scene - two years before it happened.

That's an interesting question zorya.

The authorities are not always receptive when it comes to 'non-traditional' methods of information gathering. Going to them with such information has often resulted in the would-be do-gooder ending up on the list of suspects, being questioned until the wee hours of the morning.

A case in point concerns a former teacher of mine who was living in Berkeley about 25 or 30 years ago. She kept having what she described as strange, re-occurring visions concerning a little girl, a small dog, and a yellow van.

After several days of these visions, she learned of a kidnapping involving a little girl who disappeared out of her backyard. No one had seen anything or heard anything… they just knew this little girl was missing. It turned out later that the family had also had a pet Pug dog that was apparently killed at the time of the kidnapping (this piece of info was never released to the press until long after the crime).

The family had received a ransom demand, but the police were watching the drop and no one showed up. In steps my teacher, with information that she gives to the police. She thinks the van was used to transport the little girl and mentions the dog. So the police, in stead of taking the information as possibly helpful, start grilling my teacher because she knows about the pug.

This story doesn’t have a happy ending. Several months later, the cops search an abandoned van with faded yellow paint at the Bay Meadows Race Track. It contains a bunch of junk and under the junk is a plastic bag containing the remains of the little girl. Once more my teacher is ‘brought in for questioning’. As far as I know, the case was never solved. For several years after that, anytime there was any sort of missing child report, my teacher was rounded up with the rest of ‘the usual suspects’.

Needless to say, my teacher never, ever opened her mouth again to the police or other authorities about any visions she had.

Yes, I have But I didn't really take too much notice of it but I was pretty close to the mark.(it was a murder case, who went missing)
I think doing this sort of reading you better be very correct or you may open a whole can of worms
