Soul- and personality card quickie...!

Hi!

Promised to calculate a friend's personality and soul cards - and then I forgot my TFY at home...

So if I get 1999 when adding year, month and date, I add those numbers, get 28 and end up with 10 The Wheel of Fortune - that would be the Soul card, right?

And 1+0=1 The Magician is the Personality Card, right?

But I can't figure out the Shadow card(s) for this combination, does anyone remember, or have the Tarot for Yourself readily at hand...?

Thanks,
Jenny :)

So based on this theory, everyone that is born on the same day has the same type of soul and the same type of personality?

Does this make sense to anyone?

Liliana: Thanks! It was very clear and obvious - once you pointed it out to me...! :D

Squigglywiggly: To be honest, I'm still in the experimentation phase of understanding this way of working with the Tarot, but I think it has given me some valuable insights, absolutely. About other people born on "my" birthday - I have no idea!

Light and love,
Jenny :)

Regarding the query by SquigglyWiggly, in which s/he says:

it is worth remembering that personality inventories used in standard psychology do very much the same thing: they enable the grouping of individuals according to common character traits. Likewise, what is presented here is that certain common traits will play themselves through numerous individuals, in individual ways

Jenny-Li: Based on the sum of 1999 which totals 10, 10-Wheel of Fortune is the Personality; 1-The Magician is the Soul.

The first sum is the Personality. If that number is a single digit, it serves as both the number for the Personality & for the Soul. If the sum is a 2-digit number (10, 11, etc), it is further reduced to obtain the Soul number.

*banging my head in the desk* - Of course it is! Thanks MeeWah, I thought it felt odd somehow...!

BTW, do you know why the Soul card is "limited" to the first 9 Majors? Howcome a soul can't be a Star-soul or a Temperance-soul... for example?

Thanks again!

Jenny :)

Mary K Greer doesn't explain why the Soul number is restricted to 1-9. A suppose a simple but not very useful explanation is that it is the final reduction of the numerological exercise. Most Numerology books have a personality number that reduces down a single digit, though Sonia Ducie uses a system which allows for the birthday number (1 - 31).

This can give quite a different slant to personality approaches. On Greer's count I'm a 19-10-1 but by Ducie I'm a 24/6. However getting down to the essence of the person - which you might say is the soul - means reducing as far as you can go - to a single digit. Numerology birth charts use a 9 box grid, so single digit numbers have to be used.

I think it comes down again to how you interrelate to the numbers and how you think numbers describe characteristics of people (bearing in mind that numerologists use a whole range of numerological analysis on one person).
