What's a good deck for past life readings?

Just a newbie wondering if you guys can recommend a good deck for doing past life readings. I'd love to do some of Konraad's spreads for myself and am looking for a good deck to use. (Napaea, any input? :)) Now tongue planted firmly in cheek if I have to get a new deck, this won't be a problem...

I used my Vision Tarot. It was very intuitive!

i've heard the phoenix deck is good for past life readings. i'm going to find out soon b/c i found a used deck for $8 at amazon. :D i've been told it has limited uses so i really didn't want to invest $30+ for a new one. i've also heard the symbolon is good for past life readings. that one is one the way, too. i can report back later... ;)

there are several past life spreads. i found one here a while back. was it called konrad's past life spread? i tried a karma spread this past weekend that was pretty good at probing past life issues. it's called "the gate to life: my karma" and is in the "illustrated tarot spreads" book by pielmeier & schirner. this is what it looks like:
1 2 3 4 5 6
7xxxxxxxxxx10
8xxxx13xxxx11
9xxxxxxxxxxx12

the x's represent blank spaces.i hope that makes sense.

1. +2. what kind of karma am i bringing along from the past?
3. +4. My highest motivation/goal.
5. +6 what kind of karma am I generating for the future?

what impediments are still to be overcome...

7...in the world of the spirit?
8...in the soul?
9...in the material world?

what help is given me...
10...in the world of the spirit?
11...in the soul?
12...in the material world?

13. My qualities/my weakness/my potential

the best deck for you to try w/ this spread is a deck you feel comfortable w/ and has given you good results in the past or a deck you intuit is "right" for this spread. the try it out and see how you like it! :)

I have had a lot of success with the ancestral path deck. it helps that the deck covers a variety of times in the world, and several ethnicities. you might learn alot about yourself if you pulled a majority of arthurian type cards, for instance. that may help indicate which life you are dealing with.

unfortunately, i don't have nearly as many decks as all of you guys *sigh :(* so i don't have a lot to choose from. i'd be interested to hear what you choose though!!

The Shapeshifter deck seems focussed towards past life readings. Several of the cards refer specifically to past lives, and the influence of karma is very clear.

Oh, Marion -

That's great! I have the shapeshifter deck/book set too.

Now, to try out a spread.

i did a great reading with the whimsical, once.

This deck goes waaaaaay back. Its by Lo Scarabeo, and has some pretty cool artwork.

Its a deck with primal origins. Cavemen, grunting, basic urges, conking your enemies with a club, etc. It'll take you back to past lives, perhaps farther back than you intended.

I think the deck is exceptional in its treatment of fundamental emotions, fear, lust, anger, hate, family, etc.

Its far less subtle for contemporary issues, such as money and business. However, a skilled reader can still use the deck for those abstract issues.

Heck, a skilled reader could probably use empty chewing gum wrappers and get a decent reading. Something about being tuned in to the querent, maybe.
