In the (online version) "Book of Thoth", A.C. describes the technique of card counting(?) thus:
"Count the cards from him [the significator], in the direction in which he faces. The counting should include the card from which you count. For Knights, Queens and Princes, count 4. For Princesses, count 7. etc. etc. [more stuff]"
OK, I guess we have a bunch of numbers? But THEN what? i.e. What exactly do we do with all these numbers? :)
Perhaps this is described somewhere. A book... a website Maybe? Any suggestions?
Confused, Macavity.

works like this:
you appointed/choose a "significator" card and just start counting from there, the facing thing i can't tell you, coz lots of cards don't face in a direction. so just pick any. i start reading right->left in a line of cards, but i think it doesnt really matter anyway. because you want to count, then start counting and see what cards you hit to tell the story and how they interact. maybe you dont hit certain cards in the line, that also tells you some.

Ah! :) Yes, I'm with you now - You have preempted another thought I had been having, as to exactly WHICH way a lot of cards are "facing" too! Thanks indeed, more progress made.
