I have read alot of threads recently about people saying they can't do a reading in a loud room, or when they're hungry or ill or tired or drunk... And I worry cuz it seems I can do a reading anywhere, no matter how loud or smoky or bright it is (As long as I can still see the cards and hear what the querent's saying and vice versea, I'm okay!) and no mater what state I or th equerent am in, whether we are both drunk, tips, sober, or downright paraletic. I can do it when I'm hunry, when I'm full, when I'm ill, when I'm thirsty... All the readings have the same accuracy no matter where or when or how.
And I am worried. Should this happen?

Hm, sounds like you've got a serious problem....
Just kidding, of course! :D
I think it all depends on how well you can concentrate on something and how easily you are distracted by things (people, sounds, movement) around you.
I haven't tried reading the cards in a busy room yet, but I know that I can easily read a book in a room full of people. I just shut myself off from my surroundings and concentrate on the book and sometimes I won't even hear it when they call my name... But I think I can only do this with things I enjoy doing. If I have to do some boring task that I don't like at work, I find myself actually looking for distraction, so I have an excuse to do something else instead... ;)
Sounds to me like you can concentrate very well on the task you're doing (ie. reading the cards) under any circumstance. Nothing wrong with that, on the contrary, I'd say!

Well, I should think you'd be worried - looks like you're plugged into life with a capital L!
What I wouldn't give to have the touch you have. Sometimes I can force my world to become so tight and small, usually through worry over things I have no more control over than I do my cats. Those times are when I'll need to make friends again with the light touch you seem to have in most circumstances.
Thanks for your post. It reminds me that the cards will always in the world shared by everyone and everything, even when I'm far away in the little world I'm making for myself.

Kiama I wouldn't worry if I were you. IMO its basicly the same as people who can or cannot read in noisy places (allthough a reading does require a little more then simply concentration IMVHO). When I read a (good) book I also tend to focus my concentration on it and thus totally loose focus of the outside world (when I let this happen offcourse, it would be inconvenient in a train or something ;))
As for Tarot.. I need some rest and relaxation. And I tend to get the best out of it if I'm a) totally focussed ("in the mood") and b) concentrated. And yeah, sometimes drinking a beer in the evening helps me focus on the things at hand.

I am an "all-circumstances-reader" like Kiama but if I have the choice between a busy, loud, smokey area and a calm one, I'd prefer the calm one.

trancendental focus and channeling of energies seems to me to be nothing to be concerned about. consider yourself blessed.

Me and my friends do our reading in the coffee bar at school where it is noisy and ful of post 16 lowts. Are readings still have the same accuracy as when we get together at Laura's have the incense and stuff and it's quiet I wouldn't worry in fact I'd be proud.
It is great that you can read to anyone anywhere it does not restrict you in any way shape or form it makes you stronger and better PEACE }) :D :OL

If you're ever in Utah, let me know. My friends and I are always getting loopy together and I love doing Tarot card readings then. For me, whenever I'm in my comfort zone I can work w/the Tarot so it doesnt matter if it's noisy or I'm drunk or whatever. The only time I wont read is if I feel uncomfortable, sick, down or something like that. So I guess that means you're a pretty easy going person! :)

You have a coffee bar at your school?! I guess being in the 49th school system in the below-average U.S. school system has more disadvantages then teachers who don't care.
I can read in basically any condition uness people are directly interfering, such as talking to me while I'm reading someone else or running up and screaming about how I'm going to hell (which has happened a few times) I also have a friend who reads tarot at the rennasance fair here (She first exposed me to tarot and taught me the celtic cross spread even though by then I had already taught myself and made my own spreads) who always reads with a cup of water and a cup of wine, and drinks generous amounts of both. When she tried to quit reading with alchol, she turned into a preacher, then used scotch for the rest of the month, and by the end of each day, she had problems reading... and seeing, and standing... but when she was just a little tipsy when she used wine she always read right on the dot.
