What does 'hidden' mean in a reading?
I have seen it used in different ways. Sometimes as something the querant doesn't see and sometimes as something the querant sees, but hasn't taken advantage of. There are probably other ways of using 'hidden' also and I would like to hear how other people treat 'hidden.'

I use this position to mean: "something that you are not taking advantage of, something you don't think is relevant but it is".
Did that make sense?

What sucks about hidden,is just that......HIDDEN SUCKS....
Protection,security......"Let's beef up security,so we have big brother watching us(generalized statement :D in case someone get's offended),and then we can feel free."What also sucks is the lack of communication between the parties involved...In case "someone"thinks that I was trying to HIDE this opinion,I was.......So don't tell anyone I was ever here!!!!SSHHHHHSHHH!!!
Am I still logged in?????Alibi is bull.Dna can be cool....Dna deny Alibi A lie???Rambling,and don't even have a motorcycle........Anyone up for a read???

Jakyle - Not sure I understand what you mean. Are you talking about deliberately hiding? How does that relate to the word "hidden" as a spread position?
I always take it as something missed entirely. It happens to me often enough that I miss something entirely. :eek:
And naturally the real answer is there's a whole set of different things "hidden" means to a whole set of different individuals - it's up to each of us to decide which one works best for us.

Numbrel;
My thoughts on this pretty much parallel your own, with a couple of additions. The hidden thing might also be something (some influence or knowledge, for instance) which the querrent is not supposed to know at this time for some reason. The other possibility is something which the querrent is hiding for some reason (either from themselves or from some other person who is involved in the situation).
I've always felt that when there was hidden knowledge, or some hidden influence there was also some need for growth, usually on the part of the querrent. For instance, they may not be in a place, spiritually or emotionally, where they can see or perhaps even understand the hidden influence. They may need to grow, spiritually or emotionally, before they can understand it.
By the same token, if they are carying or hiding something from others or from themselves they may need to look at getting to a point, emotionally, where they can examine this. Especially if they are hiding things from themselves.
I'm not certain I'm putting this in a clear manner, but I hope you can get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

Something not considered by the sitter (overlooked); OR something going on behind their back.

The potential meaning of a hidden factor could be one among several different things:
*Someone is trying to harm the querent in some way, and the querent has no knowledge of the danger. This might be something as innocuous as behind-the-back gossip. As Robert Johnson once sang, "Watch your close friends, baby, and your enemies can't do you no harm."
*The querent has powers, talents, or abilities that he or she is unaware of.
*The querent is in a state of denial about something, or, as one bird said to another in a recent New Yorker cartoon, "You're just migrating from yourself."
