The Moon—Rider Version After diving headlong into the Star’s pool, you emerge almost breathlessly, standing in the strange shallows of another world. The first thing that catches your eye is the moon. It looms large and bright, seeming to be divided into three; the center portion appears as a gentle sleeping profile—speak softly as not to wake it. It is hard to tell whether the moon is hanging far off in the distance or if it is suspended above the two towers that you suddenly notice. They seem familiar. You have seen those towers before, but you can’t recall where it was. You were much further away from them the last time. It annoys you that your memory fails you. You are brought from your reverie by a sharp stinging in your toe. With a yelp, you pull your left foot out of the water. Dangling down from it is a large crayfish, its claws digging deep into you. Despite the pain, you carefully pry its claws open and toss it back into the waters. The cut is rather deep, and the waters right around your foot turn a misty red. A sound! You look up quickly, squatting down in defense, hiding behind nothing. There again! You peer out before you. There is a pathway you had not noticed before. (Or then again, was it there before you noticed it?) A path that leads between the towers and far away into the dark… (Where have you seen those towers before??) Again, that sound. Longer this time. A barking, perhaps? You look out into dark. There! Off to your left a dog barks at the moon. Yet another sound! This time towards the right. A longer, sadder sound. A there you see it. A lone wolf, howling at the moon. And running right between them lies your pathway; it leads off and away into the darkness. The path you began so long ago. The path that you know you must follow to its end. Not certain how, or even if, you will be able to pass these two canines, you step out of the waters onto the path. And suddenly, you remember where you saw those towers. In your vision of Death. so it goes ravenswing

Ominous, but very cool. A great way of making the Moon into a part of the overall story/journey! It was very mysterious, in keeping with the mood of the card. I like the way you incorporate the death vision into this, making it seem very dark and scary, but you know you have to follow the path to the outcome anyway. Summon up your courage, get a band-aid for your toe, and face your fear of the unknown! R :)
