I think this is the right place to put this topic, if not I'm sure someone will move it.
Anyways I was wondering if anyone's dreams (who remember them) are affected by their tarot cards. I've played with my deck before and nothing ever happened, now I'm starting to place them under my pillow at night to sort of connect with them. And I'm starting to dream or at least remember my dreams. That part doesn't quite bother me but I can't get a good night's sleep anymore. Every night I dream and everynight I wake up exhausted and tied up in my sheets because I was so restless.
Does anyone else have this problem or a story like it?
And could anyone give me some kinda advice? Thanx

well since i am new to tarot, i did the same thing by placing my deck underneath my pillow hoping that by the next morning i would magically know the meaning of each and every card (hey i can wish. lol..) but nothing happened and it hasn't affected my sleep, i have always been waking up at all hours of the night. i have gotten different views from people. some say not to sleep with the whole deck, just a card at a time. then i have had them tell me not to do it because of having prophetic dreams, in my friends circumstance it was not a good dream. but what happened to me would be the card that i studied right before i fell asleep, then i would set the deck my nightstand and then the symbols of the card appeared in my dream. i was studying the devil card in the rw deck one niht and that same devil appeared in my dream. this has happened to me twice now (tells you how often i study my cards before i go to sleep). hope this helps.

When falling asleep with a deck on my bed, I've usually had very vibrant dreams, often containing tarot cards in it. Generally though, they're pretty harmless. These dreams don't make me feel less rested. I just remember them better. I also find that I have a similar kind of dreams even if I've just been working/reading with the cards a lot.
If these dreams you're having are really causing this much trouble, perhaps you should find other means of bonding with the deck than leaving it under your pillow. After all, if you're sleepy all the time, it'll be harder to do good readings. ;) Then again, I'm a student and I tend to value sleep above most other things. *lol*

I've always had pretty vivid dreams. But can't remember most of htem by the time i wake up....only in bits and pieces. Recently, i started putting my cards under my pillow.......yeah...heard some stories abt how it helps connect you and the cards.....but unfortunately (or fortunatey?) it's not had much effect......nothing tarot related comes into my dreams.......heh heh....maybe i shd start staring at the Devil card b4 i sleep......

Hi Celtic_Dragon,
I've slept with my Rider-Waite deck under my pillow but never had a tarot related dreams.
You might try stop sleeping with the deck under your pillow and
place a small piece of amethyst under your pillow so you can get a good night's rest. See if sleeping improves. :)

A couple of drops of lavendar oil on your pillow will help you sleep through the night. :)

Celtic Dragon... I hate to sound too mundane, but perhaps your sleep problem isn't necessarily related to the dreams. Perhaps you just don't like having the lump of your Tarot deck under your head? I had tried sleeping with my Tarot deck and had disturbed sleep as well... I started doing a lot better when I set the deck on the table by my bed. Just a thought...

Thank you all for your replys! lol and yes It was that lump under my pillow that was keeping me up. I placed the deck on the night stand. I slept better last night but the dreams still came. I still think that my dreams are being "activated" by my tarot cards somehow. Just like my lack of sleep, but now that's resolved. All I need now is to figure out what the dreams mean. That is if they're really messages. Or maybe it's just that I've awoken something (by using the tarot cards) that was asleep before.
(honestly I hope I never dream of the devil in my deck. Really creepy!!)
