Personal card...

I've read (on this forum) of two different ways of determining your personal tarot card. One of which was adding the digits in your birthday until you reached a number of twenty-two or less, the other was passing your left hand over the cards (turned face-down) and picking out the card with the greatest heat sensation. I thought it was pretty awesome that, using both methods, I got the same card- the hanged man. This certainly isn't my favorite card, but oddly it does seem to apply to me. Coincidence? I really don't think so. This deck is turning someone who was a bit skeptical.

Hello Vita-morte

Well then, you got an unequivocal finding which is a good start for the Hanged Man (or woman!)

Welcome to the Tarot. I hope you have many more delightful experiences. I think the Powers- that-be have a wonderfyl sense of humour.

Blessings,

Vita-morte... that is really awesome! I actually haven't tried either of these methods yet... hmmm... perhaps...

Anyway... I'm guessing this was with your new Spiral Tarot?

So... what are your ideas and feelings on The Hanged Man and how it applies directly to you as your card?

I tried the birthdate method and got the Wheel Of Fortune, though I find it very interesting that the Hanged Man comes up VERY often in my readings.

My response to this probably will seem silly to everyone else, but sometimes people have these moments when everything in the whole world looks totally different to them than it normally does. The thing is, I have a LOT of these little moments. I can't explain it really. When I read the description to the card, it just brought that to mind. I know that is an awful way to put it, but it's as close as I can come to putting it in words (which I'm usually so good at!).

Actually... I think you put it very well. It was a very interesting way to look at it. Would you say these moments of yours are more along the lines of an epiphany - when you all of a sudden see some personal truth, or more like things just look skewed, out of alignment to you?

Sorry for the delay in responding Trogon, I haven't been online in a while, since school started back, really. Emote: frown I would say that these moments are along the lines of focusing a camera, the world goes really out of focus but comes back even clearer than ever, I suppose in a way it is sometimes a little like an epiphany. Thank-you, you've helped me understand this a little better.

I get an affinity for the hanged man card quite often. The number 12 is my number, and just in so many ways that card applies... I guess you have experienced weird in its true historical sense (wyrd old English meaning fate)

Peace!

The Hanged Man is my year card up until May 2003...and it's a pain in the butt!

YES!! What you describe is what I lived yesterday! I went to Poland (Sczcezin) yesterday just to get a new stamp on my passport (so I can stay in the EU) -- although it is only two hours away from Berlin by train, it is psychologically about 2 millenia away. It was like going to the moon and back. And then, even when I was back in my nice little studio in comfortable, well-lit, organized, clean, logical, Berlin, I retained this very disturbing feeling of everything being strange, illogical, dark, and inexplicable.

You canb either let fate choose the card through one of these methds - or just choose the one that feels right without using ritual. I tend to go for the latter.
