how many times have the cards told it to you like it is? told you what you most needed to hear in a very direct way?
i was feeling very sorry for myself this morning. full of anger and frustration at the pain and difficulties life has been throwing my way lately. my poor sweetie had to listen to me moan about how hard life is and how bad i felt. wonderful man, he bore it very well.
i was just about to leave the house when i remembered i hadn't done a daily card. i am trying to learn them all and find this helps, but often forget. so i relaxed, shuffled the cards, cut them, and turned over the first one.
the 4 of cups! i had to laugh. i didn't even need to look up the meaning on that one. i use the rider waite deck ;-)
and it's true. there is so much in my life that is good. i was just stuck in woe is me mode. yes, some things are very hard right now. but wallowing in it is not doing anything to make it better and it's making me miserable to boot. told my boyfriend and he laughed, too. i'm not making him too happy with this mood, either. he says it's ok but it was self indulgent and i needed to stop it.
i'm not saying the card made the sun come out and everything right again. but it put me back on the path of concentrating on the good rather than the bad.
and that's a very good thing :-)
hugs to everyone!

Most people tend to neglect the good sides of life and take them for granted, while they magnify the negative aspects of it. A kick in the butt for a healthy balance is just what we need now and then. :o)

Hi Cuddles! Thanks for sharing this reading with us... It's always kind of nice when one gets that nudge back towards being balanced. Hugs back...

It does seem like sometimes the negative thinking comes easier. I'm glad the cards gave you that "push" back into the positive that you were needing. :D

hehehe! :D That's great! Yeah, they have a tendency to kick me in the butt quite a few times too. ;-) That's one of the things I like about them!

That's such a great story, cuddles. I too have had my cards tell me like it is. Sometimes they've even been so blunt that it made me burst out laughing when I saw the spread laid out. I like that the Divine has a sense of humor.

MH... I think all of us will experience that sooner or later... ;) *LOL*
Isn't that one of the reasons why we love tarot, the peculiar and ineffable ways through which it works and its unequalled talent to surprise and slap us in the face when we need it? ;) *LOL*
Well done! ((( Hugs )))

Me too. I've had the 10 of Swords show up on a day when I had a chiropractic appointment, as well as the Ace of Pentacles on pay day! ;)

Hey Cuddles...you might be interested in my technique for a daily card. If you don't get the right card, pick another....and another...and another...til you get the card you want! How long does it take to flip 78 cards one at a time? A minute or so? Time WELL spent! And you can make your day be whatever card you want. I don't know why, but for the past three months, the only card I've picked is THE HERMIT!!! ;)

lol...what a good idea ;-) just like dealing with people, if they don't tell you what you want to hear, ignore them until they do!

Oh, cuddles, If I had a dime for every kick in the butt I got from my cards, I'd be so rich in more than just insight!
I have come to depend on my cards for precisely that kick, because many times I suffer from occluded thinking, and the cards help clear that condition right out.

I've gotten several "kicks in the butt" myself. The cards always tell us the truth we need hear at the time of the reading.
Unfortunately it's usually the one truth about our situation that we fail to see or choose not to see. The cards are spell it out for us almost so we have to see it. Even if we don't acknowledge it right away, it sits in our minds and we eventually stumble across it, and then we wonder why we didn't see all along.
Anyway, that's what I love about Tarot, it makes us aware of things that we may not always want to be aware of, but need to be.
