what's the general usual significance of having a lot of wands in a reading? tried to do a search already but too many threads came up.

Well, for me Wands are one of two things:

Either they are structures (building up, challanged, or being trapped by them)

Or they are written (legal, communication and so on)

Of course, there is much more, but if I had to sum up, then those two are a good start

Hmmmm....I see wands as creative energy, the "fire within", what drives you....

I agree with amyel--a lot of energy, a lot of passion, a lot of fast action. The implication right off is that of a lot of firey emotion and energy, burning hot, getting a lot done very quickly, but quickly burned out. Think the "manic" part of manic-depressive. You're going to be riding high, doing a lot, moving fast, burning feelings, even hot temper, absolute determination, even unswerving obsession.

But it's going to end in ashes.

Whenever you have a lot of one suit or another, it's usually a warning that you need to get some of the other suits into your life. More pentacles to ground you, more swords to cool your ardor and make you think rather than act on impluse, more cups for gentler, more liquid emotions and dreams, instead of just the fiery ones.

Thanks for everyone's reply. I got wands after another after another for a reading I did for a friend. Thanks for clarifying things.

Pozt... as regards the significance of a preponderance of Wands, or the other suits, or missing suits... you might want to check out the thread "DC's tarot notes" at http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6777 She has covered this topic very well, I think.
