A sweet message for your partner...

My boyfriend and I have been doing this for a while now, nearly two years, and it really is a nice thing to do, so I thought I'd share with you all!

When one of us goes out before the other person is expected home (Usually if I go our before Simon's expected home from work) and we know we won't be back when the other person returns, we leave a cryptic message with Tarot cards in a prominent place in the house, which tells them something nice.

Usually, I simple 'I Love You' message, where I place cards like the 2 of Cups, Lovers, 10 of Cups, and either side of this my boyfriend and my significators: Queen of Wands and King of Swords. It's a bit like a spread, only I'm actually choosing the cards!

One day I will get round to developing our own 'code', so we'll be leaving messages such as 'Gone down town to buy porridge oats'... What cards would that be? Chariot, 10 of Wands, 4 of Wands? (4 of Wands with the harvest scene in the background to represent porridge oats...) Or one day, when I'm around... 27... I hope, I will be able to leave the 'Honey, I'm pregnant' message... Let's see... Empress of course, Queen of Pentacles? Lovers?

Anyone else do this? Can you think of any other general messages you could leave?

Too cool! What a great idea! My fiancee has expressed an interest in learning Tarot. Maybe when he decides to actually jump on the wagon, I can use messages like that to help him learn more cards. I think he would get a kick out of it, since it would be kind of like a puzzle for a beginner. What fun! ;) JLB

Very sweet idea Kiama!
Key words are fiance and boyfriend.
I've been married for 17 years. My spouse wouldn't notice an elephant sitting on my couch juggling tarot cards!
Maybe if I glued them to the tv or computer screen?

LOL :D Woof...I can sympathize but I've only been married 7 yrs so mine might notice the elephant juggling act.

Kiama, I think its very sweet that you and your boyfriend do that for each other. :)

Ohhhh....! What an idea.

If only my boyfriend didn't shun Tarot with every fiber of his Christian faith and stubborn logic... this would be fun to do.

The High Priestess - me
The Chariot - him
The World - the two of us, together.

That's amazing! And fun... :)

*runs off to find a Tarot-orientated b/f* :P

Can you imagine:

Guy: Do you wanna go out with me?
Me: Depends, have you learned Tarot or are you interested in learning it?

Hmm...

Scheherazade, It sounds like you have your work cut out for you!

Hehe! I use Tarot Cards to scold my friends. In a fun way! And we enjoy using it t as we dont really hurt each other.

The Fool-You're silly
Death-Go and die
Devil-You're evil and disgusting
Empress-You're so vain
The Hanged Man-Where is your brain?
Swords of 2 or 3(RWS)-You heartless beast
Hermit-You walk like a turtle.

Maybe you find it "The Fool" but we dont want to be too direct and hurt each other's feeling. Is getting very popular in my school now ^_^

Kiama  25 Mar 2003
Hi Coldsuns, I really like the Empress and Hanged Man there! I've never thought of the Empress in that way before, but I realise now that vanity is one of her worse traits.

:D

Hehe! *The Empress is looking at the mirror*
Just to remind, is to write ,"The Fool" on a paper as message and not to buy many decks then paste here and there. Hehe =X

The Fool + The Hanged Man = 10 Of Cups.

Or in other words, to say that we are wandering and not so together now, and one day we will sacrifice that, and find home together.

I think kiama was reffering to nice ones.
