Does anyone of you predict for yourselves? Well, everytime i asked any questions, no matter what, pentacles will always come out and they will always be the most cards in a spread.
Heard that practitioners don't do it for themselves... is it true?
Just kinda find that it's too much of coincidence...

I always do readings for myself. Almost every night. Using 3 cards spread. You can learn alot by doing that.
"I personally dont think there's anything wrong with doing lots of readings for yourself, although try not to read the same thing twice for at least a month, or if circumstances drastically change. Also- too many personal reading can cause a burn out, where you will just become confused and lose interest in tarot. "

"No, but seriously, you can ask the Tarot any question you want. The tricky thing is interpreting the answer correctly, and for that you need to use your intuition, your common sense, and a basic knowledge of Tarot."
-Originally by Diana
"And don't keep asking the same question over & over, you do have to wait a week or two before asking the same thing. Remember that you're only getting GUIDANCE on this, once you get your answer from the deck you can influence the future enough to change the reading. It's not set in stone."
-Originally by HudsonGray
"I've also noticed another problem for myself. If I do a lot of "daily" readings for myself, over a period of a few weeks, I tend to reach something of a burnout. I get to a point where the cards aren't making much sense. Sometimes changing to a different deck will help, but so far I've found the best remedy is to take a week or two away from daily readings. This "daily-reading-burnout" I occasionally hit (okay... only a couple of times so far... ) does not seem to affect my ability to read for others, or to do readings for myself on bigger matters."
-Originally by Trogon
"Yes you can definitely read for yourself, but predictions are very hard to do, and in my opinion they take some psychic ability also. In order to get more familiar with Tarot, why don't you start out with a weekly or daily 3-card reading on something like, "what will I learn about myself today" or what obstacles will I encounter today" or something similar."

So the pentacles don't stand for money or material goods in any way, shape or form in your readings?
It could be that you can't get apart from yourself enough to get a completely objective reading--this happens a lot & I couldn't read for myself for 3 years because all the cards always would come up doom & gloom for that reason. I was too close & couldn't distance myself enough to let the cards go to work. A lot of readers have trouble reading for themselves but can read for others just fine. Usually it passes. After I broke through on it I can read ok for myself. My hurdle now is to be able to get a good reading for a friend who I know wants something very much, but the cards come up showing her what she wants to hear, not what they should be showing. I'm too close to her & can't get an objective reading because of it. With everyone else I'm fine. But she's my best friend and I know she wants to hear some things very badly & it cuts into the reading every time no matter how I try.

What is your gut feeling every time you see them? What is the dread connected to, if there is any? What do you think it is telling you? Are they 'good' cards or to they tell you of struggle with money or where you live or your health?
Sometimes, the cards tell me what I didn't ask about. sometimes they show me something underlying my question, something that is really at question.
I am more open-minded about card reading now, because it is not "set in stone", as Hudson Grey stated. It is flexible and if I can separate and consider the 'negative' message, I can be flexible too and CHANGE what is occuring or what I am feeling.
Pentacles are about anything to do with our 'earthness' - it can be food, comfort, work, material concerns, even manifestation through our work.
Play with it. "What if" it. Go with what you sense it may be telling you. Throw some more cards on top of the ones you don't understand. Eventually it will appear.
I read for myself just about everyday, but I always approach the reading with kindness toward me. I find, in so doing, that humor starts to enter the picture and that is FUN! We tend to be so hard on ourselves and I really think the 'Universe' tries to tell us to lighten up and live!!!
When in doubt, have FUN with your readings!

Nexorious -
I don't know over how long a period this has been happening ?
I do a daily reading for myself and I often get the same cards or the same kind of cards (for example the same suit) over a certain period, and this makes perfect sense to me as it is about an issue that is not over after a day but going on over a couple of days.
If you get a lot of penticles - stability, money, earthyness are an issue for you.
Could it be you always have your mind on spiritual things and forget about the material world ? The cards may be telling you you need to ground more.
On the other hand, you may concentrate on the material world too much and pay too little attention to other things.
If you are not sure about a reading, you can post it in the "Your Readings" section so others can help you interpret the reading.
It is possible to read for yourself, but sometimes you are too close to the subject to see what is going on, and someone else may have a clearer view.
Hope this helps :)

many pentcles...some attention is needed in the material area of your life.
many swords..some action needs focus or some issue needed alot of thought.
many cups...pay attention to the heart and the emotions that come out.
many spears...focus on the spiritual and creative part within the self.
Without the readings themselves it's hard to offer any specifics...but in having pentacles show them selves in numbers, for example; I would review my attitude towards stuff and money? In what ways have your attitudes changed? Is there some material desire? What way are you going about obtaining it? how is that working?...there are a number of directions this can be taken, find the direction that applies to you.

Hmmm........when i asked about love and life questions, they will tend to pop up. And i had once done in a celtic spread, i got 4-10 of pentacles. Though they make sense when i interpret, it just don't fit in the question. But in fact, they hit on target of what is in the spread - as in being able to match with other cards to give a deeper meaning.
Though i don't get freak out when i see them, it's just too straining for me to solve it.
And yes, i don't care alot about worldly possessions, lest someone was to lend money from me, i won't hesitate but vice versa, i will definitely return him/her as soon as possible.
So, if i start to care about the material world, will these pentacles disappear?

Pentacles are also very much about security and stability. Perhaps these issues are being touched on?

LOL...I don't think 'caring' more about stuff and money will change your love life. BUT...perhaps your mininalism might have others seeing you as a 'poor' person.
Another thing to consider is that the reading had a mind of it's own and before you seek direction in the emotional department you must first tackle some material issues in life.

It's not that you are 'not stable now'; it could simply be a point of awareness about something in your material/living life.
Just start paying attention to things, like spending and food and how you care for yourself. It will become clear. the point sometimes is to just start noticing an area of our lives that we took for granted.
I always approach my readings gently. I have a critical parent voice inside that would like to tell me off. But Spirit is always supportive as It guides us into new awareness. It is always encouraging out Highest Good!
It could very well be that you are being told, job well done! Maybe you just need to praise yourself!!! Just be open and the insight will unveil!

I got it. You made a point there, indeed I am rather spendthrift and often waste food but I personally have a sickness hence i will tend to leave almost a whole plate of food on the table.
Well, I do take money for granted but by doing so, I don't wish to be bounded by money. I don't wish to be a stingy person or miser. So, when the pentacles appear, is it telling me that it's time to make change? As in to start cherishing my material life? If it's so, I don't think I will even change as I'm rather a stubborn person.
Yes, I do approach my readings gently too but spiritually, I don't feel anything.

Nex: I think you hit the focus right there! You mentioned you have a "sickness".
If you 'read' the cards in reference to that, like what you may be doing or not doing, or what the sickness may be telling you, or how you can care for yourself in it - what do you see when you apply the cards to the sickness?
"Sickness" is actually part of our spirituality (or at least, that is how I see it, being a Reiki Healer) We don't always want to look at that because, often, physical 'problems' seem to limit us. But if we honestly want to encourage our spiritual growth, many of us find that paying attention to our physical problems increases our spiritual expansion.
Does that make sense? Do you think this may reveal more for you in your reading?

Well.. I dunno if I should start a new thread with this but in any case the title of this one is recurrence so I guess it fits in
I was wondering if someone could illustrate me on the 9 of Cups (I'm using the witches tarot), the last couple of days it has been popping up everywhere, in 3 card spreads as current situation and in celtic cross as my current standing (1st card).
The minors give me a bit of trouble, so that's why I'm asking, as far as I understand is the wish card, everything you ask will be granted, like a green light.. am I right?
but the many times I've been seeing it lately is making me curious about what's behind it
ohhh by the way, if ur familiar with this deck, does every main female in it look pregnant to u too , or is it just me getting them?
I'm not into specific events or anything, I believe more in lessons, but the images keeps popping on my face ...
