(Un) Happy families ? : 10 cups

Has anyone interpreted 10 cups (upright ) as being stuck in a , domestic , rut ? It's not my first take on the card , but recently I've got to wonder about it . Maybe they are all getting too cosy with the way things are ? So , maybe they are not unhappy as such , but are denying themselves the "something more " which could come with exploration , and the breaking up of the status quo.

Tens can be looked at as both an ending an a beginning---moving from a completed cycle to a new cycle. Tens are about what we've established and what we take with us into the future. The 10 of cups seems to portray a pretty happy transition. Usually I interpret this card positively. But it also cautions not to take anything for granted. In real life things change and if we don't keep working at it we will lose the good things. In the RWS the cups are embedded in a rainbow. Rainbows disappear. Things change. Sometimes I see the card as a wish for an ideal family -unrealistic expectations. Rose

For me, at least, the 10 of cups is almost exactly that. The tens are the end of a cycle in that element; it has taken you as far as you can go, and it is time to move on. Emotion, imagination, and dreams, and all the work of water can do no more for you here. It signals, among other things, that people may be stuck in a rut, may be trying the same emotional ploys that no longer work.

Could it mean having a wonderful time spending with love ones? All the effort put into the relation/friend/kinship has been fully received so they have been closer than before. Guessing. :)

Tens remind me of reading a really good book,and then having to "deal" with The End page........That depressing feeling of it's over,gotta find another book and start over.....Hey now!!!
