Hi :)
I'd like to use the tarot for simple yes and no answers. Is there any cards who are connected to yes and no.
I thought of picking two cards.......one for yes and another for no, and use them for simple questions.
Any suggestions?
Hope for quick answers. Thank you in advance!

Try this one.
Take out the World, the Hanged Man and the Moon.
Ask your question and shuffle. Make sure you're really concentrating on the question. Don't let the phone ringing distract you.
The World means Yes.
The Hanged Man means No.
The Moon means Maybe.
If you get "Maybe" redo the spread the next day. (Forces are still in motion.........)

i do the basic upright yes, reversed no,
then i start to examine the card itself for a more detailed explanation using numerology , and kabbalah, or what i can understand at this time.
example hmm let me ask a real question. and get a deck .
*thinks of something to ask *
*it is hard to think of something to ask been sitting here a few minutes *
will i like the buffy finale, the world upright
1. yes
2. i feel it will answer most of the questions in the buffy world and leave it wide open to more exploring of that world, while completing most of the loose ends.
3. it will mean so much to me on all four levels of the elements in my make up.
but yes i should like it.
(let you know in two weeks if it worked out.

There's also the oldy but goodie ACE/13 draw.
You make four stacks, drawing up to 13 cards each. If you get an Ace, you move to the next stack, until you have four stacks.
Four Aces equals a definite YES.
3 Aces a probably
2 Aces a Maybe
One or less, a No........

Skytwig, I did a similar spread using a regular deck of playing cards (pre-tarot days) about meeting my husband. It was Kings instead of Aces, though. And it was right on.

Holmes, I found a place online with full disclosure on what happens in the finale, if you REALLY wanna know! Angel is in the second to last episode, but not in the final one. And 2 people in the 'group' die.
I'll post the URL if you really want to read all about it.

I just tried Diana's suggestion (Using the World , Hanged man
and Moon cards.)
I asked 10 questions , and got 10 "maybe's " !!!!!! (I'll work the
probability out later.)
My last question "Are you being straight with me tonight ?" got
the same response !!
An uncharacteristically playful response . Better stop the vitamins

samantha: That is very funny. :D Which deck are you using?

RWS.
Up until now I didn't think that it had a sense of humour .
Alot of OTHER very worthy qualities I quickly add , but nothing
to have you rolling around on the floor about ......
Perhaps this heralds a whole new chapter in our relationship
together .

Whenever I need a quick bit of divine counsel, I shuffle as normal (for me three times overhanded, and seven times mixing) and choose one card from the top of the deck.
If I come up with a Major Arcana, I assume that the answer is always "yes," if you are willing to learn and apply the lesson of that particular card. However, if this is too vague for you, I suppose it is possible to remove the major arcana (although, at that point you may be accused of practicing claromancy).
Reversals come into play when a card of the minor arcana is turned. But first, I make the following divisions among cards: even numbers=YES, odd numbers=NO, King=NO, Queen=YES, Knight=NO, Page=YES. Then, if the card was turned upright, I interpret that to be a verification of the above attributions. However, if the card was reversed I assume that there will be a delay for all affirmative answers, and that a negatory response means that there are preventive obstacles that could be overcome with no small effort.
I hope you find this helpful, I know it has gotten me out of a few jams that a coin toss seemed insufficient to resolve.

i found a neat Yes-or-No spread in the back of Tarot Reversals by Greer...
you lay a three card spread (either general, or past-present-future, or whichever you like)...upright is yes, reversed is no...the first card and the last card count once, the middle card counts twice...so, it's possible to get a 'tie' which means the answer is 'maybe' (as yet undetermined)...i've tried it a couple of times, and so far it's worked very well!! :D
many blessings,

Balder,
I would probably use the Sun to signify yes and the Moon to signify no.
Depends really.

Howdy Balder, and all...
Gee... I hate to really go against the grain here.... ;) But for simple yes-no-maybe questions, I don't actually use the Tarot. For something requiring this sort of response I use a pendulum. I've found it to be very reliable and flexable enough for most simple things. It's also useful for dowsing and determining the sex of an unborn child. I've tried this last 3 times and been correct on all - not a long track record, but real good so far. If you'd like to take a look at a discussion on using pendulums, see; http://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11345&highlight=pendulum
Just thought I'd throw a monkey wrench into the discussion...

I'll catch that monkey wrench... ;)
Pendulums are excellent ---- especially for sex determination. One thing I've learned, however, is that the sex will change on a female's hand, because it's the male of the relationship that provides the gender. Change the male, and you (possibly) change the gender. It not only tells you the sex of your unborns, but how many unborns --- and includes those that don't make it to term as well. (So IOW, it tells you how many pregnancies you will have -or can have- with a particular mate.)
However, other than with children, I've discovered that pendulums have a tendency to tell you what you want to hear. So if I have a question in which it really matters to me whether it's a "yes" or "no", often I'll seek confirmation using the tarot, if a pendulum gives me the answer I "want" to hear.
See how I just turned it back around to tarot? LOL
Off to check out the pendulum discussion you'd linked to...

Hi :)
I used the first suggestion from Diana with good results.
I first picked a card to check what the deck thought about my idea, and I got Death. I was very satisfied with this, cause I wanted to get to the bottom of things and destroy all my fantasies.
Here is some of my Q & A:
* Are you telling me the truth: Yes
* Do I have a spiritual support: No
* Should I look more into my death-philosophy: No
* Would I live long: No
* Would I die with pain: No
* Do I live my history: Maybe
* Would I live a good life: No
* Would it be worse than now: No
* Should I write books: Yes
* Would I ever get a book published: Maybe
* Should I chat less: Maybe
* Will I get a partner: No
* Will my life change significally: No
This is what I remember now. I was actually very happy with this reading. I like to hear the truth, not some hopeful fantasies. I see myself single and I accept that. I know I'll probably die when I'm about 50-60 because of my health, and that's also ok. I can also live this changing life with suffering and happiness.
I thought the reading was very honest. I used the renaissance cards by helen jones. I like them.
This was a good experience for me with tarot. I wasn't afraid. And I found a good deck which gave me good vibes and love, I felt. Not like the Thoth I have.....
I felt I hit the rock bottom, and that was good. The cold and safe truth. Now it was only one way to go I felt, and it inspired me to do a full tarotreading which I will tell more about on the reading forum soon.
Thank you all for good suggestions on the topic.
I think that when you accecpt your destiny however it is, you can find inner peace..... And that might be the first step to change it, how strange that sounds....
The death card I got was the end of a period. Here in Norway we are used to accept the winter and some even enjoy the no-life-no-sun time. But we just can't stop the spring from coming....hehe.
More about that later.... :)
