I was going through my Hudes deck today and I noticed that there are symbols in the corners of the Wheel of Fortune card. I don't recognize any of them, and they're kind of hard to describe. Does anyone who uses the Hudes deck have any idea what they are?

Hi Becca -- The Samuls book says that they are alchemical symbols for the seasons of the year -- "spring and summer on the top, with fall and winter on the bottom."
The book also mentions lots of opposites being present in the card -- Sun and Moon glyphs, Saturn (limitation) and Jupiter (expansion), night and day, male and female.
I find this a bit strange -- I have not noticed too many other alchemical references in the deck, with the possible exception of the magician who (with a lot of imagination) could be seen as searching for the philosopher's stone, or something.
Drop by the "Unusual Aspects of the Hudes Tarot" thread if you get a chance -- I'm going to try and post some new material on the map backgrounds, and could use any insights you might have.
Thanks,
Zagone
