Greetings fellow newbies...
After a month of intense research and studies, I'd like to share some thoughts and impressions.
First of all, this forum is far the best place to go after other resources and learning from our (amazing) experienced coleague members.
Of course a good book is essencial, and after extensive research, I decided to go with Rachel Pollack's Illustrated guide to Tarot, which I am liking alot, although it lacks a little when it comes to the cards meanings.
I've found too much contradition on the theory here and there, which confuses me, but practice/experience should bring light on those issues.
A good tip is to go to the members directory and browse some member's sites - awesome stuff out there.
The best resourse I've found so far is:
http://www.learntarot.com
they have an offline version of THE WHOLE SITE available to download, and they cover pretty much everything a begginer needs in order to start.
I am using the Raider deck (as my study sources), and also I purchased the Thoth deck, just out of curiosity, also attracted by its beautiful artwork.
I hope these comments are useful for you.
Please share your thoughts as well!
peace always,
Bruno

You have some exciting times ahead, as you continue to get to know these little cards. Continue approaching the ideas with an open mind, and you'll find out why you've decided to learn the Tarot.
And I hope you'll continue to let us all know your impressions as you go!

I've moved this thread to Using Tarot Cards, as more people will see it there (not everyone visits the New Members forum).
I too found Learning the Tarot a very helpful website when I first started.
Have you found Thirtheen's Tarot Basics here on Aeclectic yet? It's certainly worth checking out as well!

Yes, I have read and took notes on Thirteen's visioning of the cards... one of the best approaches I've seen so far....
and thanx for moving my thread to the proper section, Tarotlady.
cheers,
B.

"Continue approaching the ideas with an open mind, and you'll find out why you've decided to learn the Tarot."
Very interesting point, Rota, as 'apparentely' I decided to study the Tarot out of the sudden, without a specific reason. To be honest I dont even remember exactly when, or what led me to it anymore... :-)
cheers
B.
