I have too much time to think at work lately

What cards would you guys associate with starting a new business from scratch... lets say you are a young entrepenour with a fresh idea, looking for a partner, cash and starting your own business (you know... you're very own XXIst century Path of the Fool)

I guess you bright new idea would be an ACE, depending on what area it is (like that thread on professions)

Then as you start developing your own idea (it's still on the cauldron) I guess you could be either the Fool himself (of course) or maybe the Hermit - you know when you're planning something but you're still keeping it to yourself while it is on the drawing board???? 3 of pentacles comes to mind...

The Bank you look to for finance? The emperor / Hierophant .. they are both such faces for institutions.. and not necessarily very friendly

A partner for your business??? Lovers / 2 cups (given that there are a lot of pentacles or Swords around I guess)

Very slow and weary begining - 4 Pentacles

Chariot - A fight for control with your partner, or a hostile take over

wow... what would be him going .com ???? 8 pentacles??????????

Ok, this was just me brainstorming at work... see I have realised that I better come up with some novel idea to succeed in life... so in the meantime while I find that fancy idea I entertain myself by thinking how the whole process will look through the cards...
(how positive I am...)

Probably the modern businessman is far longer that this couple of ideas I have set forth here, so how would you guys illustrate this TRUE FOOLs' path?????????????????????

i see this as a 21st century reversed fool's journey:

he'd start of with all that he has (the world), risking everything in order to make sure his efforts are rewarded

things crumbe at first (tower) and he realizes that you have to make a deal with the (devil) in order to succeed

he'll eventually lose honesty (justice) and patience (strength) and play scrupulously (chariot) in order to win over his competition

he'll have less time for his family, friends and loved ones (lovers) in order to keep up with industry trends (hierophant)

he'd end up with a multinational company having dictatorship over market conditions (magician)

but in reality...he is a (fool) for letting go of the more important things in life in exchange for success and money

sorry...its a sad story

Well, I am most of the way through the preparatory phase and plan to launch a hobby-level venture this fall via the Internet. An Ace (Pentacles for me) has to play a role in the "vision thing." Then, the Seven-Pentacles seems to play a role in developing the products and their production processes. At a certain point you start to do "trial introductions" using selected people to solicit feedback on your projects -- the Three-Wands can represent this phase. I'm looking forward to the Two-Wands phase where I can actually experience the satisfaction of a launch that has gone well while still looking forward to completing and then expanding the original vision. Hi Indigo Lady

If you are looking for a card that really signifies the gestation and birth of a new idea, then look no further than the Empress I would suggest. She knows how to build a good nest :O)

For the sharing principle of a partnership I would look to the 6 coins, and the financial advisor I would see as the King or Queen of Pentacles, whereas the actual bank manager would be the very aloof King or Queen of Swords.

Just some thoughts
