Cards gone on vacation

I was thinking as I played with the cards lately:

Haven't you ever noticed that some cards go on vacation sometimes????

For a period of time I would see the Queen of Pentacles everywhere no matter who the querent was or the subject of the reading .. the other night I realised that I haven't seen her for so long in any reading that I might have lost her ...

I actually had to look through the cards twice to find her

What do you guys think about this?

Does it ever happen to you that a card takes a leave of absence ????

Thanks ;)

you had a post about being WAY stressed out

and it made me think : have you forgotten you are a queen?
would the queen of pentacles skimp herself on well deserved , much needed relaxants....i dont know what your thing is ....maybe taking long scented baths, maybe getting pedicures, maybe going camping for a night only....whatever recharges those batteries. It doesnt have to cost money but if it does dont scrooge yourself. When you have responsibilities often one puts oneself at the bottom of the list. Well you cant be selfish and always be at the top of the list no matter what , but the same reasoning says you cant always be at th bottom

okay, does this have anything to do with the q of pent abscence? maybe not , maybe she is just enjoyng her vacation time

hehehhehehehe

my stress might be getting on my nerves, but I think this is something else

I did this reading today, the one for the UN attack, and when I saw the Queen of Wands I started thinking about all the other Queens and realised it had been ages since I had seen that card, and , as I mentioned it took me a while to find it in the deck.. I think she was sun bathing somwhere.. anyways

But it does happen, "back in da days" when I had the time (and the disposition) to do daily card draws, at the end of every month I would do a chart with all the cards I had drawn and come up with how many of certain number, certain suit, how many majors, how many pips... whatever (I get into statistics some time.. my nerdy side) . And I would compare that with the cards that came out in my readings and realised that sometimes cards would go on vacation sometimes.. or maybe they were just too tired... who knows-

It's like when you walk through the street every day and suddenly you realise that the guy who sells newspaper in the corner has been missing for a couple of days now...

Indigo,
It happens to me too. Some cards almost never show up on certain periods, they are on vacation or playing to hide and seek. While anothers are all the time in the table screaming: "im here, im here, look at me again! Dont i look good? I know you like to see me".

Guess is a matter of the influences and energies that are active in ones life at the time. Someday those lazy cards appear again and you almost dont remember its face. Is like some people...

Which makes me wonder, as a reader, if influences and energies that are presently active in your life are showing up in this way (either you're seeing the same cards over and over, or certain cards are conspicuously not appearing at all) how greatly will this affect your readings for other people? Could this phenomenon bias readings you perform for clients/friends? (I'm assuming this occurs both for readings for others as well as for yourself). How much of our own energies/experiences do we bring "to the table" when we perform readings for others?

Most certainly, cards will take a break w/me.... But some I'm glad for. 8-10 of swords can slack off anytime :)

I'm afraid I can't speak for bias as I use different decks for myself and others, would be interesting to read others' experiences....

Often for me, some cards take a permanent vacation, and I hardly ever see them in readings.

The cards I hardly ever get in readings, for myself or others are...

The Sun
Justice
7 of Cups
7 of Pentacles

This has led to me not understanding these cards as much as the others... :(

I never see the Sun - EVER! Yet it appears in reading I do for others.
I never see the Nine of Cups, either...

Warmest,

This is a really interesting question. Cant answer properly here. Unfortunately i almost never do readings for others, dont do much for myself neither. My friends arent interested in tarot, so no chances to read for them, same with the family except for my mother.
But i guess, that the bias affects the readings for the others too if you cant calm your mind down? What im trying to say is when your emotional state is very accused (when you are very sad, very happy, etc..) is when that thing with the cards tends to happen more. In other periods, all the cards show in a more regular basis. Other thoughts on this subject?

Just to give this a little twist

Maybe the abscence of certain cards are not just a reflection of the influences and active energies in your life, the readers life that is. But a reflections of the surrounding circumstances, that would mean the roads and turns that the environment, the conglomerate to which both the querent and reader belong to. Perhaps their community, the society... what is lacking or in excess in their environment that is having an influence on them...

Think of the effects of seeing the twin towers on TV for anyone with an inch of sensitivity, the phenomena of collective guilt in Germany, how the sight of space missions on TV gives so many people reassurance of the positive steps of humanity... or the warm fuzzy feeling some of us get when we see UNICEF documentaries on how they erradicated some X disease through vaccination in God forsaken middle of nowhere (ok, I just went a bit overboard on that last one there... lets change that to nice Kodak moment commercials...)

Kind of a big brother / conspiracy thing if you think about it.
