Knight of Wands: your thoughts?

I've been assigned a 3rd card in the 2nd Aeclectic Tarot Project, and it's the Knight of Wands! I always let Solandia pick the card, because I feel whichever one it is, is the right one for me to be working on at that moment. At least, it's worked that way so far.

Now, I haven't had alot of experience with the Knight of Wands, I usually go for the Knight of Pentacles, so much so that I married one! LOL

So, what does this card mean to you? What type of person is this Knight? What aspect does it represent (when it's not a person)?

Thanks so much for the help in getting to know this guy!
R :)

Edited to add: This was post # 1414 = 1. How cool is it that it was about creating a card? :D

This is my short answer, lol:
To me, this card is about protecting beliefs that you are passionate about. You will go out of your way to protect these beliefs, including speaking logically, protesting, traveling, etc.

I made this when I was studying the knights to get an overall view of each... I consulted several sources (Rachel Pollack, Mary K. Greer, Joan Bunning, etc.), so you might recognize a few sentences ;)

On the positive side, the Knight of Wands is full of energy and life. He's never afraid to try something new and has a thirst for fresh experiences. There are no limits or boundaries for this guy. He is the first to throw himself enthusiastically into a new cause -- but also the first to drop it when something more exciting comes along. A charmer and a flirt, he's sexy, irresistible and radiates creative and sexual energy. But don’t give your heart over too quickly to him, though, for he is as unreliable as he is attractive. This personality is constantly on the go, viewing life as one big game... Nevertheless, underneath that armour he wears a warm and generous heart—he’ll be highly supportive of those he considers friends...
On the negative side, this Knight is a little too sure of himself and his abilities, and likes to show off. He can be reckless, thoughtless and irresponsible. He acts without thinking and constantly gets in trouble because of his temper and jealousy. His haste can cause him to be rude, pushy, careless, and scattered. Projects end up being abandoned only half-completed.

If this Knight's energy is missing, a dose of passion and daring may be called for. He challenges you to try something new, to go out and have some fun. Let him introduce you to his world of adventure, excitement and risk. Your confidence levels will rise to the surface along with the Knight's energy, and you'll feel ready to take on the world. Tackle all challenges that come into your path, and always be ready to help others who lack your determination and enthusiasm...
The warning here is to pace yourself and to keep sight of the bigger picture. Sometimes this Knight runs over everything and everyone in his path in order to get where he wants to go, if he doesn't burn himself out first.

Sometimes the appearance of this knight can signify getting involved in a new endeavour. You may find yourself drawn to more than one activity or project, or moving from one to another.

This Knight doesn't feel comfortable standing in one spot; he always has to be on the move. Therefore he can also point to the need for a change of scenery. He can represent an exciting trip or a change of residence.

When this card pops up, it might mean that there is a lot of activity going on and that you are in the middle of it. The Knight of Wands may rule and predict events that enter your life sudden and unexpectedly. He often represents the coming or going of an important matter, and you can rest assured that these comings and going will be swift ones...

I hope this helps, good luck!

The knight of wands appeared in my life once. he was my former boy friend. I think he was the knight of wands reversed.
His energy was appealing but he never stopped to thing about others. He was brave and he dared everything.
he was out for a quick fix...nothing long term

Spoonbender covered just about everything. Nutshell definition: Think Don Quixote mixed with the star quarterback of a football team (that's American football--or if you will, the star player of a winning soccer team).

On the one hand, endearing and inspiring as he tilts at windmills or leads the team to victory. Mr. Charisma with the big smile and the energetic pep talk; talented and absolutely certain of winning. In school, he charmed all the girls; they drifted toward him like moths to a flame. And guys admired him as well. On the other hand, he's always a bit full of himself and insensitive/blind to others wants and needs. Like Don Quixote, he's going full tilt, and you're not going to convince him that's not a giant he'd racing towards--or that you're tired and need a rest.

Most essentially, always on the go. All wands are. They love being busy, travelng, moving, doing; they never stop--until and unless they burn themselves out.

I often get the Knight of Wands showing up in readings. He usually represents my son Joe who is a typical teenager at the moment. Always looking for something new. Very passionate and slightly idealistic about things (although that may be the Knight of Cups in him), means well, has a lot of friends and can be incredible charming especially to adults *lol* but is also unreliable and headstrong.

Love and light

For whats worth I will add a few more lines... I need to do it, even if im not adding too much new.

The knight of wands is energetic, charismatic, charming and active, always enjoying the present and making plans for the future. He is always in movement, looking for something to do and someone to meet, new things to discover. Thats why most of the time he is not very focussed in anything, but when he wants something, then will do all what is needed for reaching it. Because he is very steady and headstrong too. But dont forget, he likes the things done at his own way, and probabily he wants the others do everything at his way too, so he will try to teach how the things have to be done, even if he is not right, because his way is "the best". Same goes for his ideas and points of view. His convictions are strong and he defends it passionately.

He is very sure about himself and his qualities, so he dares to do almost everything. He is going to conquer the world. That causes admiration in the others. But other times can be really cocky, proud and egocentric, and seems like if he needs to look down on everyone to reassert his selfconfidence or his sense of superiority.

He is fun to be with, always ready for parties, with a good sense of humour, can make fun about everything, he uses to be surrounded by people, he is attractive, he is hot, he is generous and he is flirting most of the time. He will cheer up you when you are sad and will encourage you when you are hesitant or unsure. He gives you strenght and nice moments.

He is fickle, he forgets about lot of things because has found something more interesting to do. He is jealous, he is impulsive and he doesnt want to give any reason about what he does. Sometimes he seems insensitive to the others feelings, irresponsible and unmature.

He can make you feel like a real queen when is paying attention to you and caring for everything, but after a few minutes he will ignore you totally because he is absorved with another thing or another person. Do you remember the film "The talented Mr Ripley"? I see the character interpreted by Jude Law (can't remember the name) like a knight of wands in lot of aspects. Something like now im here and all my passion is with you, after im gone and all my passion is with another one, so forget me. I mean he is not intending to be cold with you (but can make you feel taht way), simply he is not thinking about that, he needs variety, he needs changes and entertainment. Lots of it.

When not a person, the knight of wands usually refers to travels. To someone who is moving fast or involved in many different activities. He is probabily leaving, not arriving.
For me it refers to be brave, rely in yourself, go for what you want, try new things, be passionate, be active.
Bec, i will steal your signature here (because i like it and because it fits): "You can do it because you dare to try it". Thats what this knight says when is not representing a person in a reading.

Thanks guys, all of this has really helped. I have a great picture in my head now, but I'm not sure if it will work itself out onto the paper quite the way I see it right now. I look forward to sharing it with you soon!
