It's an odd question
In the threads about issues that have to do with current politics and so on, many times certain cards are related to different nations
So I started thinking, have you ever related certain tarot card with a specific country, a region or just to geography (sea, mountains, lakes, prairies) ????
I guess the approach to life that people in a certain place have is what can be reflected on a card describing that certain place
Anyways, I'm just curious to see what you guys think about this
;)

This reminds me of my son's Magic card game.....
some place in history in the back of my mind I had thought about this, even wrote something down somewhere. Mountains are Pentacles....being associated with metal, much ore comes from mountains. The Sea-lake, cups for obvious reasons. Wands would be the woods/forests...Swords I got stuck on....there are also icecaps/tundra...
.....where's my notes

There are a couple cards with river motives that make me think of the black river to the underworld -- the River Styx. I see a volcano in the Secret Tarots Empress Card that ought to be mount Aetna, considered the entrance to Hades.
The Empresses waterfalls and place of spring are a locus amoenus -- for me, the Land of Oz.

When I am interested in doing a political/mundane reading it is usually in response to something that one or two leaders of nations are doing or saying or planning. In those cases, one of the leaders can be related to a specific card or his/her actions can be related to one of a few cards. I do a spread and then look for the card(s) that relate to the leader(s) or situation -- using them as a focal point. Now those cards may fall in any spread position. Most often I use the Horoscope/House spread (due to a long-standing astrological background). The houses have their own meaning to overlay the card meanings. And cards in adjacent positions (if the same suite or number) can be treated as astrological conjunctions, while squares and oppositions can also be used. Reversals can be used as retrogrades. It makes for a very rich, and appropriate, reading. Dave.
