also
-tying things together
-harmony & peace
-business or relationship turns to a partnership that lays
foundations for the future.
-happy celebration
Would someone tell me is that a bridge on the bottom right of the card? And any other ideas you would like to share.

The bridge in the four of wands to me is the same bridge that is in the five of cups.
In the five of cups it's further away and the figure in the card is so involved in his sorrow and loss he doesn't notice it.
I think the bridge in the four of wands tells us that if we come out of the sorrow of the five of cups and cross that bridge (a bridge of sorrow,or bridge over troubled waters) we can come into a time of happiness, relationships with others, and celebration.
Anyway thats how I've come to see it.

Lark,
I think it's really interesting how the meanings of progression can change by which way you go through the suits, ie, beginning with the King or the Ace and use the visuals between the suits. Especially when dealing with the 4 which seems to be a cumulation, a square for solidity. 5 of cups can lead to the 4 of Wands if they choose to cross the bridge or hmmm, if the value of the 4 Wandsis not guarded and treasured, cups are spilled and the house becomes a broken wreck? I thought this was a interesting view of both cards. Thanks for the insights.

Thank you WalesWoman,
And like you said if you don't value and treasure that four of wands, you can still end up crossing that bridge back to the five of cups.
And have to learn that lesson all over again.
These two cards keep me mind full of enjoying and valuing my blessings.

Ros mentioned about happy celebration...do you think this card might also mean a wedding?

(I probably shouldn't mention this, in the context of the RWS) but I guess this is one of the few I actually remember astrologically in the Crowley Thoth - As "Venus in Aries" (mars). So I suspect, in the wider GD tradition, it was the union of the sexes - Or indeed marriage? ;)
