KING OF CUPS

Anyone have any ideas what the throne is standing on? It looks like a slab of cement to me. Why is it floating? I dont get it!

J :)

I could never figure out what it was either. Mabee it is his grounding. I have said that this man is holding on to his emotions,(the cup) so the card is saying

-stay afloat
-hold on to your emotions
-go with the flow
-let things flow
-create balance in your emotions

Hope this helps!

well, it seems to me that the king must be very skilful to sit on that cement throne and menage to stay afloat in the meanwhile. it suggests me the he's not quite always naturally in direct contact with his emotions (water) and for that he must pay a lot of attention on this, not to be drowned. maybe, if you are dealing every day with this, you become very skillful at the end.
and, what star sign is assigned to this king? does someone of you know?

I use him as a Scorpio.

lou  18 Dec 2003
really? why ros?

ros  18 Dec 2003
Just because that's the way it is. lol
That's how I learned the card.

ros  18 Dec 2003
Sorry, I guess I should say because I use the cup cards as the water signs of the zodiac.

ah ok. i just thougth it was some personal interpretation of yours.
thank you ros.

The King of Cups is a highly imaginative fellow. He rules over our dreams (I think). He could probably even fly if he wanted to (but he probably doesn't want to.)

WalesWoman  19 Dec 2003
I read something somewhere that the King of Cups isn't comfortable in this position, the guy thing with emotions perhaps?
That his emotions can actually trap him in them, maybe that is why the throne looks like cement or carved from stone, floating on and surrounded by water. It really isn't his element, but there he is and has to deal with it one way or another, either by figuring it out or trying to ignore it and act like all is well and normal.
I just had the visual of the lone male in a housefull of raging estrogens.
Just some thoughts.

To me he can a Scorpio or Pisces or Cancer, it's the Water connection :)

He is a very sensitive man, in touch with his and others emotions and needs that go with them, nurturing, gentle, kind and perhaps, creative.

Sometimes he lacks a little oomphhh, a dreamer and escapist.
