Hi,
I have just begun and was instantly drawn to the Scapini deck. Any suggestions on how I can better myself in tarot?

I really enjoy starting to get to know a deck by reading reviews...then I go through the cards and pick a card a day and read the interpretations...that's my suggestions for this fun deck.

I read last year somewhere that a book is being written on this deck...but haven't seen anything. I enjoy the beautiful inks and images. Some people don't read the llittle white books, but I have fun with Scapini's descriptions.
Best wishes,
Mari H.

Keep a journal of your readings. This is one of the most important things that you can do.

Hey... I LOVE the Scapini deck, it´s my favorite. Be very observant of the pictures they have a lot to say, that helps alot in the readings. Sometimes I read the little booklet that is inside the deck to understand what the artist wanted to represent in each of the pictures of the different cards. It has turn out to be helpful. Enjoy them!!!!

I love this deck too. I've had it a long time and have never given it the attention it deserves, but I think its time. The majors and court cards are beautiful and the minors are often very humorous.
Post away on this deck! I'd love to talk about it.

* Hardcover
* Publisher: United States Games Systems; Book and Cards edition (May 2004)
* ISBN: 1572814772
The nice replier (Liz Espinoza) from U.S. Games said it isn't something they are 'reselling' from their website and suggested ordering it from Amazon.com if it is listed on the website...although it is not available yet...

U.S. Games is offering a book and deck set...while we may have to wait for tarotgarden.com or U.S. Games to announce it, at least there's going to be something scheduled this year.
I was going to suggest looking at books that included the Scapini deck in its samples, but these books have many generic suggestions and you already have the Tarot Directory by A. Linnett.
The Juliet Sharman book Mastering the Tarot :An Advanced Personal Teaching Guide has five or six decks illustrated in a Renaissance or Medieval style and only suggests meanings generically.

I did a search inside the Juliet Sharman book on Amazon.com and 13 references to the Medieval Scapini came up, where she describes a few cards from it to other decks...maybe helpful to you if you are still waiting for the a book to be released on the Scapini...

I have a few Scapini decks which I like published by Dal Negro (Romeo and Juliet and the Stained Glass), but they have really good booklets included with them by Scapini that explains his themes. The U.S. Games Medieval isn't my favorite Scapini deck, but a well-written book could add to my
enjoyment of the the U.S. Games deck.
Best wishes,
Mari H.
