I recently did a reading where three knights appeared. I never had that happen! What does a reading like this mean? I am open to anyones ideas and views.
Thanks

I am sure you'll get many more in-depth answers to your question Leonine.....but just a quickie here.
Traditionally, yes here I go again with traditionally, three Knights would imply people getting together, to party or celebrate.

Sounds like war to me.

LOL.
We have parties and we have war. And now I come along with my piece of cake which is: Knights bring messages.
BUT: are the Knights bringing messages of war or of parties?
We would need to know more details about your spread and most definitely also the other cards that came up and what their positions were.

Yes. I think its war-I am interested in "someone" who is already "attached! Thank you for the advice!

Another question-the other cards were "favorable"-does this mean I am winning? In addition to the "knights"-there were "cup" cards.

Aah! But who knows what's around the corner Leonine. This 'attached' person may one day want to 'unattach'.....soooo if you play your cards right, you could have every reason to celebrate!!! Yes? No?

Hi,
In some of my notes I have that 3 knights mean
"unexpected meetings"
just an other idea!

I certainly hope so! I think I am portrayed as the Queen of Cups!
There was also an upright ten of cups!

I just wanted to drop a line to all of you to let you know your reading of my "knights" question a while back was right on the money! My sister in law had dropped in from out of state for an "unexpected visit" and had turned a rather pleasurable day into an "all out family fight" or "war" that is still going on after almost two weeks. Thanks to all of you for your accurate advice and I will be more careful next time to pay closer attention to my readings!

So leonine, the three knights coming together meant war then, didn't it! What a wonderful confirmation, thank you. It is a brilliant reading I mean -- three knights coming together.... individually, each one stands for different things relative to the suit... but knights in general stand for war don't they -- their foremost duty in feudal society - to protect king and country... so three knights coming together, (while it could mean a party, yes, but then, why didn't they invite any girls??? What's a party with just knights... ) sure makes sense as "war".
Thank you for coming back with the confirmation.( I hope everything got satisfactorily resolved.)

Ahhhhh....... clarity!!!
Knights are warrior types; pages are the messengers...... knights do have all that armor on, don't they?

Yes, It is absolutely true! Anyway, when I draw a "page", (I usually use the celtic cross spread) I take the page out, and form another "celtic cross" over it. By doing this, I can gain better insight into the "message" that the page represents. I have never achieved any "hidden messages" with knights! Since they are shielded in armor, it makes sense that they mean "war"!

"page"
When I turn these little guys over I ask the client to draw another card for insight to the message & place it on top or the page.
I've learned lots on this thread, thanks!

In my experience 3 knights can mean any number of things: council, unexpected tidings, ..... there's a dragon that needs slaying.... ;)

I couldn't agree with you more, mac22! If you have read the previous responses, my sister-in-law is a bit of a dragon! Although in more realistic terms, I refer to her as a "spoiled brat"! Thanks for giving me further insight into my readings.

Ah! I found it!
Knights are really interesting Courts, I personally very rarely read them as people, generally the 'energy' of the situation.
Example: Knight of Pents, feeling very 'grounded' in the whatever asked question.
Knight of Cups: could be emotional or following ones emotions, dreams, imagination.....
As for 3 Knoghts I mean Knights, I would go with travel, as a general rule. But as we all know there are always exceptions to rules, esp. with the Tarot ;)
