I havent figured out how to determine time frame with the tarot. Like if a querent asks "when will I find my soulmate and when?" How can you see the when part in the cards? Any tips or ideas?

Well personally, I don't think matters of timing are valid questions for the Tarot, UNLESS you state a time frame in the question. (Is it likely that I will meet my soulmate in the next 6 months?) and not do another reaidng on that topic until the stated amount of time has past.
The reason for this is....life is static and so is the reading. You can do a reading about when you will meet your soulmate and 6 months later do it again, and the cards you draw will not be the same. (Very, very, slim chance the exact same cards will come up in the exact same order.) The cards will reflect the moment they are drawn and will change as your life changes.
But thats only my personal opinion. :) For those who do time their readings, I'm sure it works jsut perfectly for them.

Time readings have always been tough ones for me. I find that when I am doing a reading for someone, it sometimes comes up near the end of the reading, "Oh! When will this happen to me?" Sometimes the time frame is clear, and sometimes it is not.

Miss Apples,
How peculiar. i just posted this in another thread, so I'll basically reiterate it:
I read somewhere that theoretically, you can attach units of time to the suits, and then use the numbers on them to predict when something will happen. Ie. if wands represent weeks, the seven of wands would be seven weeks.
But I have to say I don't agree that this would work, but we all have different types of faith in our cards!

I can't remember where I read this but the seasons were assigned to each suit, Winter-Sword, Spring- Wands, Summer-Cups and Fall-Pentacles. The number of cards from each suit in a spread would lean you towards that season. Equal number of cards, say swords and wands then I would have to say as winter was fading into spring. It is all alittle vague but I have found the matter of assigning time troublsome and at most time inaccurate. In one spread I did there were numerous pentacles but the feeling I got from the cards was definitely winter not fall.

I think if you were to do a thing like that...your cards may not be in the same sequence. Like as for elements, I use wands for fire signs, cups for water signs, swords for air signs, and pentacles for earth signs. However my best friend uses swords as fire signs, wands for water signs, cups for air signs, and then the pentacles for earth signs. So maybe your cards have pentacles representing winter for you and not fall like what you have read.

I think you need to decide on what your system will be for that reading, before the cards are dealt, and then interpret it according to your system. It doesn't matter if your system agrees with Uncle Al or Auntie Rachel, just so long as it sits right with you.
Just my .02 worth,
Kim
