As no true image of Jesus exists, I wouldn't know...
From the period of time Jesus was around scientists made a computer image of what he may of looked like. I am sure there is a site on it somewhere...
It is nowhere near the image portrayed of Jesus that we know, like the one you posted ;)

I think that he looks more like one of the men from the Swedish pop-group ABBA. ;)

I thought the Connolly tarot was supposed to have a Christian theme (I could be making that up). In that case, wouldn't it make sense that Christ would be the one that seems to be welcoming everyone to his table? Maybe that would explain his resemblance to the popular, though perhaps incorrect, image of Jesus as a friendly looking hippy. Just a thought.

Actually, the male figures in two other cards of the Connolly deck look like (common modern-day illustrations of) Jesus:
XV Materialism
7 of Cups (Him from the backside)
But the figure in the 9 of Cups certainly looks the most like Jesus, perhaps at the wedding in Cana, which some novel commentators say was his own wedding.

I agree that this does resemble the modern concept of what Jesus looked like. However, I also agree that it is most likely inaccurate to what he really looked like. It seems that the Connolly deck does have a Christian theme to it. I enjoy that deck and feel much of it represents my faith.
Blessings,

You are right. Maybe I should have asked if it looks like the stereotypical images of Jesus. The only thing that doesn't look like Jesus is the goatee which (to fit the stereotype) should be a beard.
By the way how do I add a poll?

Yes, the guy in the card is suppose to "look like" Jesus as he's depicted on stained glass windows in most old churches.
Connolly's deck is very Christian, like Connolly herself, in a new-agey but yet still conventional manner. That's why the cards look like stained glass windows and the images often include people who look like they came from the pages of an old fashioned book of Bible stories for children.

He certainly looks like the accepted viewpoint of what Jesus was supposed to look like.
Does anyone have the Bruegel deck? Jesus makes several cameos throughout this deck and it is oh so obvious it is supposed to be him. One can only assume he received his just royalties for this appearance :)

I went to a talk in Edinburgh, can't remember the topic, but the gentleman giving the talk was in his 70's 0r 80's and was a now defunked Priest of the Church of England (due to the changing of his spiritual beliefs) he said that (apparently) Jesus' aura was so strong it looked and felt like bright car head lights :)
He wrote a book, which I was not aware of until his talk titled: Jesus Was A Druid and being an x-priest it was quite contraversial...

I know the Roman Empire extended into Gaul and Britain where there were plenty of Druids...I suppose one of them could have made his way to Jerusalem and learned Aramaic fluently enough to be a new prophet....
But I just can't image why a Druid would do that. Unless he was nabbed by the Romans and brought down by them?
And a nice Jewish family took him in? Why else would he celebrate Passover?

Except I didn't say that (Jesus Was A Druid), it is a book title, and I am sure that you would have to read the book to understand the title :) XTAX

The book is _Jesus, the Master Builder: Druid Mysteries and the Dawn of Christianity_ by Gordon Strachan
And I don't put much stock in his theories.
Joseph of Arimathea came to Britain after Jesus death.

You've read it?? That's funny...
Very eccentric man, I loved his talk, he was a breath of fresh air away from the usual conservative Edinburgh chat  XTAX
