King of Sacred Circles (Ancestral Path)

Hi,

I know that many of you use the Ancestral Path deck. I did a reading two days ago and drew four court cards among the seven required in the spread.

I draw very rarely court cards and, in spite of the companion book, I still do not get completely the meaning of the King of Sacred Circles aka Grandfather Thunder. I know it is not easy to find a meaning without the surrounding cards etc. but I haven't got time to post the complete reading and I'd better get a grip on the basic meaning of the card first before linking it to the others.

I would really appreciate any feeling you get from this card, both based on the book or your own intuition of course. Thanks very much!!!

Blessings,

Kissa

The court cards on the Sacred Path often give me trouble as well--I'm not sure why. Even MORE than most court cards, they seem to be pointing to Real people--either the querent themselves, or someone the querent knows.

In the case of Grandpa Thunder there, we're talking about a very solid leader or parental figure. The kind who most of the time sits at the table just listening. But when he opens his mouth, it's like the rumbling of thunder or the beat of drums. Everyone shuts up to listen. This is the rock of the family, the mountain. On the one side, utterly reliable, strong as strong can be, organized, traditional--VERY traditional, never has to write anything down, he remembers everything. Demonstrative in affection to his grandkids, more likely, however, to shake hands rather then hug his adult children. They probably call him "Sir." Honest, sometimes brutally. Responsible. This is not a man who shirks his duties or blames others for his misatakes.

Of course, if someone else IS to blame, he's not going to be forgiving either. On the negative side, this his guy is stubborn, unmoving, hidebound. This is not a leader who negotiates. He listens to what everyone has to say, then he decides, and that's that. When he speaks, everyone listens. When he commands, everyone obeys. If they don't like it, they can leave. In other words, this is a conservative patriarch who may come to regret, bitterly, not listening to someone who begged him to reconsider, or driving away those how didn't agree with him.

Hi Thirteen,

being a big fan of your Basics, I appreciate very much your answer. You pointed out the problem: the court cards in this deck refer to real ppl. As my reading was about my grandfather, whom I never knew, I am a bit troubled by all these court cards I got. If they refer to real ppl who were important to him or even if they refer to him and some of his qualities, there's hardly noone left in this world who can help me figuring it out :-(

Nevertheless, I keep thinking and meditating about this reading. As my question was about our relationship together (I've been feeling his presence intensively for over 6 months now), I hope I can figure at least some info out, even without knowing him "personnally".

Thank you again very much for your answer. You made a very clear descritpion of this GrandPa. I think many things you described can describe just the way he was or maybe how his son, my father, is ... ????

Blessings,

Kissa
