Surely there must be a method or someone out there must have a indication on what cards represent certain countries. Or could it be using the majors and having the corresponding astrological sign for that major and are also assigned for countries? Any ideas on that question?

In the Golden Dawn way of looking at things, the Princesses (sic) and Aces govern the direction quadrants of the Globe. Viewed from above (the North Pole) we have:
Aces and Princesses of...
Wands: Asia
Cups: Pacific
Swords: The Americas
Disks: Europe and Africa
(From e.g. DuQuette's "Chicken Qabalah")

P.S. From New Zealand, I guess it's... as seen from below? })

Another way is to use the directional attributes of the suits and take the numerical sequence as an indication of distance, a local rather than a universal system. For a universal you could use the astrological attributions.

Thanks for your advice on those guys. I woke up this morning and I thought of the Emperor representing Great Britain: governed by Mars and Aries. "England sits in the seat of Mars" from some astrologer.

Well, the Hudes incorporates maps into the backgrounds of the cards. That could possibly be useful... *hint, hint* :D

What a great question, Lucille!
I had a thought that countries have a star sign, for example, Scotland is a Cancer country and The Chariot is the Cancer card, so maybe The Chariot is Scotlands' card?
Just a thought, I really love threads that make you think and also look at Tarot in a way that haven't done so before :) XTAX

Hi Lucille -
I was just reading Alan Oken's book on Astrology - you could use the astrological sign for the country and then match that with the linked/assigned tarot card(s) from book T ...
