Question of Reversals

I'm sure this territory's been covered many a-time but for me and other newbies I thought I'd go ahead and ask... Does anyone know a good source of info for interpreting reversals? What I mean is with my Goddess Tarot deck, the book that goes with it and the workbook I also got have meanings for the card upright and the card reversed but it leaves little room for interpretation on the reversals-- it's pretty much like each card supposedly means its exact opposite if it's upside down. Does that make sense? I've read various places that that is not necessarily the case but can't find much detailed information on other ways to interpret reversals. I've also tried looking through back threads but I'm not so good with that. Your advice, opinions, links, etc. are appreciated. Thanks

I never used to like reversals before, but with my deck and the quest shuffle that I use, there are going to be reversals, so I've come to appreciate them. Looking at them as a solution on how to get it upright. Although reversals can be good as well, like if you had the "Tower" reversed, it's a less severe form of the upright, or 10 swords (reversed) end of bad times. But people only like to hear the positive things, so alot of people don't want to reverse the cards. Only way to improve is to have total honesty in tarot, and reversals can be a good way to get the message across.

Hi Brandi, I would thoroughly recommend the book Tarot Reversals, by Mary K. Greer. Greer describes in great detail (probably the best detail I have seen so far) both the upright and reversed associations of each card. It is an excellent book, and Ms Greer has a lucid, and clear writing style which is both engrossing and easy to read. I think you can purchase this book from Amazon. C

Thanks! I found the book on amazon and will be sifting through the links-- I knew there had to be more to these reversals!
