Significator cards

I have been extremely interested in the tarot for many years now... since I was approx 12-13 and I'm now 22... one thing I have always struggled with is significator cards.... I've discovered during the past 10 years that it's nearly impossible to find a website that helps you with this... I once many years ago found a site that gave you many suggestions for choosing a card based on appearance, astrological sign, ect. Now I can no longer find it. Can anyone help? also.... a lot of the time I feel that choosing a card limits the response you can get... you are "type-casting" in a way... any opinions?

Hi Lucy! I think we have had some threads about significators before. By appearance, zodiacal sign (using court cards or Major Arcana), behaviour of the person in the situation, pages for children, also have seen the magician or the high priestess standing for the querent... The most important is that the card feels right to you. And for limiting the response you get... well i think the only limitation about using significators is that there is a card less to pick up.
