King of Cups

I've been using Shesawolf's Daily 3-card Spread, which I like.

Three out of the past 5 days, for the Court card I've pulled the King of Cups. Mathematically I find this more than coincidence. Is it trying to tell me something? Is it supposed to be one person important in my life at this time, or is it just different people with the same personality? Am I being creeped out for no reason?

What do you think?

Since this is a daily draw, think about the personality strengths and characteristics of the King of Cups, and how it could apply to you. When doing readings for myself, I usually don't think of court cards as some other person per se, but something within myself that needs to be examined. Since it keeps coming up for you and no one seems to fit the card, then I would probably think it means that it's something you need to focus on within yourself.

Maybe it taking emotional responsibility for your self, or responsibility for others depending on you, being in control of your emotions, caring for other people, volunteer work, there are tons of ideas looking at key words for this card. Wise, calm, diplomatic, caring and tolerant to name a few. Thirteen has some good ideas for a person, but I really like the ideas I get looking at Carol Bunning's site... learntarot.com (is that ok? I'm never sure about posting links to other sites) She seems to open it up more to other possibilities, actions, and attitudes rather than focusing on a particular person or profession you might find them in. Keep your eyes open as well as your ming and I'm sure you will figure this out.
Maybe you'd rather open your mind than your "ming" LOL

In my daily cards no matter how many I try to see where that cards comes up in the day and if it is relevent to people, situations etc. So on your case I would look for people of that card, look for that card in myself and if the use of the cards attributes can be used in my day

I've always treated Court cards as other people, even though it could very well mean me. Thank you for calling this to my attention!

Today, I got the King of Cups as a "jumper" when I was shuffling randomly. Now I knew I had to figure this out. On this site I found a definition that sounds very much like me... an issue I'm dealing with and have been for quite some time.

http://www.psymon.com/tarot/cups-king.html
"This individual has conflicting emotions regarding intimate relationships. On one hand there is a desire for closeness and commitment; on the other hand there is a fear of being contained and limited by these emotions. Confrontation is necessary to face fears and accept the growth that comes with emotional challenges."

I've been avoiding thinking about the underlying cause of my 'conflicting emotions', thinking that if I pretend it's not there, it isn't. But I know that's not true and I do really need to confront it and learn from it and move on, and maybe I could learn to be more comfortable with myself and my relationships.

the mediator. what i think is that this king is an indication that you must reach an agreement with the conflicting forces in your life. be that people or an old outdated method. the key is to consider all veiwpoints and be considerate of others needs.

What about a close family member of this King of Cups description who has passed over? Maybe he is hanging around you at the moment.

Holly Day:

I went to that site, psymon.com and I really found his definition of the King of Cups to be odd.....

I know you found something there that 'clicked' for you, but i would recommend reading other interpretations.... Check out Thirteen's definition here at Aeclectic, for instance..... Kings

I also like the reference to the Wounded Healer in the King of Cups..... are you considering taking a class in the healing arts?
