I am just curious as to how many of you diligently read a card a day for yourselves? I used to do this years ago when I was first learning, then it got to be just one more thing to remember to do, so it went by the wayside. But now, after having a long dry spell with Tarot, I'm eager to start again. But for those of you that do this just a few questions -
What time of day do you find works best for you?
Do you consistantly use the same deck day after day?
Do you carry the message or image of the card in your mind throughout your day?
And finally, do you ever review, say at the end of the day, how the message of the card might have impacted or influenced you?
Thanks in advance to anyone/everyone answering this. I'm quite new here, and I did a search for this topic but didn't find it. If it is duplicitous please forgive.

I have tried doing a card a day and it usually only lasts a few days before I either run out of time in my day or forget or just can't seem to get the umph up to do it. On one of the web groups I belong to we started doing a weekly drawing exchange for each other with a weekly rotation and I find that much easier to keep track of and do. Since you are reading for someone else you dont have the same tendency to put it off for later.

Yes I'm drawing one card a day, first thing in the morning. To see what my thoughts, feelings, actions of the day will bring. Also just getting to see how my "Robin Wood" acts, and how I can relate it to the card.

I don't but wish I had the gumption to do it. On the rare occasion I do, I do carry the message. I TRY to at least do a weekly reading, but haven't lately. My time is so flamin' limited, I've delved back into more study than reading at the moment. I tend to flip back and forth between Universal Waite and Old English, and trying to learn some Marseille in there too..
Welcome a-board, Collielin!

I try to do a card a day everyday. I do miss the odd day though so it usually ends up as 3 cards a week :)
I try to do a Mind, Body, Sprit spread each week as well and I find these to be more useful than the card a day.

I brought the mythic tarot deck last week and decided to try reading a daily card. So far I have pulled 6, I have been doing this in the morning. I have been trying to review what each card has meant for me that day, (but not always successfully), I have pulled the 10 of wands twice and feel that they related to a tricky situation I have with a project task that needs a final alteration before it is complete.

I pull a Faery Oracle card and clip it to my desk calendar. It alerts to me something I need to consider (could apply to any aspect of anything I'm doing). I leave it there until I know the situation has changed or that I fully understand what the card refers to. Sometimes this takes several days, or maybe just one.
I used to pull regular tarot cards for a daily card, but now I do readings on specific Qs with those and use the faeries for a general "look!"

I do a 3 card spirit/mind/body reading every day. My deck collection has crept to over 50, so I choose different decks; sometimes the same one for awhile but I change pretty frequently. How much I ponder the reading depends a lot on my situation and which cards I get. If everything seems ho-hum and I get the 8 of Wands and the Tower, I'll likely think about it quite a bit:-) From the 3, I choose whichever card I think is most significant or helpful and put it in a lucite picture frame (the kind you just slide the picture in from the side) on my bedside table so I know I'll look at it at least a couple of times during the day.

Thanks everybody - some of you put the cards you draw in conspicous place where you can see them during the course of your day. I like that idea. If I can get myself disiplined enough to do a daily draw, I'd like to have half a chance of remembering what I drew.......... (I'm old).
If I win my bid on ebay for the quest deck I'd like to use that one daily for awhile. I think that would be a good way to familiarized yourself with any new deck you get.
Usually when I get a new deck, I flip though it, flip through the book.....and then put it away. So when the time would come for a real in depth reading.......I'm not used to the cards.
So that settles it. I'm going to start doing a daily card! (ummmm) I'll start tomorrow!

Every morning a three card overview-- the day (1st card, center position), the challenge (2nd card, left) and the strengths (3rd card, right). At the moment I'm using the Nigel Jackson. I found it immeadiately user-friendly.
There's also a one card study. At the moment I'm working with the tarot of the sephiroth- a wonderful re-acquisition.
I'm in the process of designing a deck-- I've established the order in which the cards are going to be drawn up. So on my little reading table I have the Thoth to the left and a mini-RWS to the right stacked in that order. Right now there sitting there with the Devil up on top.

well, I sort of do. Sometimes I do a three card daily, problems, what will help, what will make it difficult (though that puts the emphasis on trouble, so I need to find a better one).
Since I'm trying to learn the Buddha Tarot, I usually pull one card from that at night, read up on it, try and sort of meditate (though I usually fall asleep) and think about it more the following day.

I used to, when I just started reading to get to learn the cards. For me personally, the card generally had nothing to do with my day so I just used it for learning purposes.
Now I draw two or three cards for practice in reading cards together; however, I can't say that I do it everyday.
