I just got an idea. So many people do daily card draws but wouldn't it be interesting to pull a card for the night? One could ask for example:"What will be the main topic of my dreams?" I'm sure there are lots of other points to focuse on too. And /or in the morning one could also pull a card regarding the dreams one had at night. This could help to interpret them and one wouldn't forget the dreams so easy.
I think this would be very interesting for dream work but also for the unconscious side. Imagine what you would find out about yourself if you would do both: Pull a daily and a nightly card. And of course this is a great method to get to know a new deck! ;)

Darla, lark gave me this idea a couple of months ago. What she does is keep a deck beside the bed, & pull one card off the top of the deck every night (replacing it at the bottom) until she's worked her way right through the deck, at which point she replaces it with something else. I loved the idea, & so I copied her (just finished with Osho Zen yesterday, so it's funny you should start the thread!)
I hadn't thought of connecting the card later with my dreams . . . my point has been more a message that soothes & puts me to sleep (OZ deck has been great for this! & now I'm on to Whimsical . . . even perfecter I think . . . )

Thats a great idea! I think I may try that. For someone with too many decks :| its sounds like a good way of studying a different deck.

cool! I've actually been doing that for a while now. So far, I don't think it's affected my dreams, but hopefully the images are at least sinking into my unconscious while I sleep!

That's just why I originally started doing it.
I have so many decks I wanted to spend time with but not enough time.
So I chose a deck to use during the day and I have my night deck by the bed.
Punchinella~ I'm so glad you use this method and it's working for you!
Darla~I do sometimes dream about the card I pick or sometimes my dreams have the meaning of the card expressed it it.
Often the card I pick the night before reflects the following day.
Last night I picked the 10 of Cups from the Whimsical deck that is my bedside deck now.
(Yes~Punchinells strange but true we are working with the same deck at the same time!)
I hope I have a Ten of Cups day today.
I was doing the Tarot of the Spirit but I set it aside to be a daytime deck.
The book is very deep and sometimes I'm to tired to absorb it all.
I try and pick bedtime decks that have shorter writeups in the book, and wonderful pictures to meditate on. Like Osha Zen, Margarete Petersen, Whimsical (it's like reading a fairy tale before bed) Sacred Rose, Phantasmagoric Theather ect.

This is very interesting! Especially that the card reflects the following day. I think I will start tonight!

I've been doing this for ages now.
I have a deck next to my bed - it was the Tarot of the Spirit and is now Victoria Regina.
I journal a card everynight before bed which helps me to study the card/deck and I've had various dreams where the cards are involved or perhaps the person in the card. Most recently it was the Empress from Victoria Regina. I still find a very strong link with the her in the VR deck even though I can't fully remember the dream.
Then I have 'several' decks that I'm studying and using during the day, depending on which study group I'm involved in and what I feel like doing.
The night time cards are the ones I seem to remember best. I do all my best thinking while I'm asleep! :) That's when I remember appointments and sort out problems. It's probably because that is when my mind is relaxed - the cards help me with this.

I've only been doing this for the last few nights. I am using the Golden, mostly because the box lends itself to just pulling the next card. I shuffled them when I started and then put them back in the box the wrong way round. Now, I just take the next card and put it at the back when I am finished.
Last night I pulled the 8 Wands, indicating progress, and travel and guess whose flying to Tenerife today? Meeeee
See you all next week!
